View From The Back Deck: There is a point in time for everyone who goes to sea under sail when they "strike the chord." It is when five notes, the wind the water and the three sails come together in perfect harmony. That moment when everything comes into play and into balance. That moment of peace where all is perfect.
Some people spend a lifetime trying to find that point, some never do. Some find it without even trying.
Think about it for a minute. Even though it is a very complex mathematical harmonic, it still is only five notes. One hand on the piano. Yet, Because, at sea, nothing stays the same for more then a second, finding that point is amazing.
Translate this to your life. Suddenly you have hundreds of notes that have to come together in harmony. And each is consistently changing. So your chord becomes a symphony. Your single instrument becomes and orchestra. If "striking the chord" at sea in a sail boat is amazing, how much more fantastic is "striking the chord" as a human being?

I have probably said this ten times today.
If your head and heart are not in alignment (agreement) then the stomach pays the price.

This has been a very different year for everyone. But for us it has been a time to sit and reflect and to learn.
Our studies of the human body and the fantastic blend of muscle, bone, tendons, ligaments and joints with energy has continued with new insights and new understandings of how they work and all of the effect the outside influences have.
The fact that we are interacting not only with the human body, but a human being makes it even more amazing.
So, what have we learned? That during a session we are working with a flowing ever-changing balance of physical and emotional. A ballet and symphony working to create an experience. The understanding that the music and chorography changing places as to which is the driving force. Knowing that, in fact, they both are necessary. That we can not work solely with the muscles or with the emotions. That we must work with both.
This is not something you normally get from massage. Call us, book an appointment and understand the Favorite Starr Experience.

Let us talk Muscles.
The physical muscles allow us to move back and forth, side to side and to twist to the left and to the right. Together they make it possible to do almost everything in the physical world. They give us both our strength and our flexibility. They respond to exercise. No one muscle can do everything. It takes several muscles to do anything. No single form of massage addresses everything. Several forms of massage, used in harmony, can do a lot.
What about the Mental, Emotional, Intellectual and Spiritual Muscles? Most people do not think about them very often. But they are there. And just like the physical, they can benefit from a little stretching and exercise and even a massage now and then.

The longer I am in this business, the harder it is to do "just" a massage. I find it harder not to bring into our work all of the training and skills I have learned in the last 14 years. There are times when it is something you are "telling" me as we work together. Our time together is fluid, ever changing and an experience rather then a set formula. Dancing without a plan.
That is why I love this work so much.

You have to BE inside before you can BE outside.
