Ilona Holland is a Certified Thetahealer, Relaxation Therapist, Karuna Holy Fire III Reiki Master, Life Coach & Yoga Instructor. Born with a passion for understanding the interrelation between Body, Mind, Soul and Spirit, she has spent the past two decades traveling, studying, and practicing a variety of fitness, wellness and holistic techniques geared to helping fulfill people's holistic wellness goals. Those are the words of the incredible Jamie Halverson, a 2024 Portraits of Hope honoree and a big supporter of our Life Dimensions family. Jamie’s journey is one of breathtaking resilience—diagnosed with breast cancer at 36 while 18 weeks pregnant, she navigated surgeries and chemotherapy with a newborn in her arms, a toddler in her lap, and her husband steadfastly by her side.

Today, Jamie is cancer-free. Yet, as the oncology community and massage therapists trained in post-op recovery understand, being "cancer-free" is often the beginning of a complex, multifaceted recovery journey. It is a scientific reality that the body often holds onto the somatic trauma of medical treatment long after active interventions have ceased.

The Multi-Faceted Road to Recovery:

Oncological massage and therapeutic bodywork are vital tools during this phase. According to research from organizations like AMTA, skilled massage therapy addresses the long-term physical sequelae of cancer treatment, including:

- Improving the appearance and mobility of restrictive surgical scar tissue.

Whether it’s a sudden tightness in your jaw during a deadline or a heaviness in your shoulders that sleep won’t fix, these aren't just "annoyances"—they are physiological responses. While every story starts in a different place for everyone, your body is always looking for a way to complete that cycle and find its way back to equilibrium.

We are taking a short holiday break this week and there will be no yoga classes on:

Classes will resume on Monday 1/6.

We hope this season is offering you moments of rest, connection, and whatever nourishment you need — whether that’s movement, stillness, or time with loved ones.

As we return in the new year, we’d love to remind you of the different offerings within our Life Dimensions yoga community

Katrina McKeagney classes focus on pelvic floor health, low back pain relief, and supportive pre- and post-natal practices. Available Tuesday and Sunday

Ilona Holland classes follow a journey through the 8 limbs of yoga and, depending on the season and weather, may include a variety of styles such as yin yoga, vinyasa, kundalini, hatha as well as practices that replenish life force and vitality.
