Calling on Community đ
With gas prices continuing to rise, weâre seeing more and more cancer patients reaching outâalmost dailyâjust trying to figure out how to get to their next appointment.
Did you know that many patients' undergoing radiation are at the hospital 5 days a week for 4â6 weeks?
Thatâs dozens of trips back and forth. On top of the cost of treatment, medications, nutritious food, and in many cases, reduced or lost income.
In fact, studies show that nearly 1 in 3 cancer patients report financial hardship during treatment, and for many, transportation becomes one of the biggest barriers to care.
That means people are having to make impossible choices:
Gas or groceries.
Appointments or rent.
At Wings of Hope, we believe no one should have to choose.
Through our Fuel for Hope program, we provide gas and grocery cards to help ease just a small piece of that burden, but the need is growing quickly. In 2026 alone, weâve already provided over $3,500 in support, and the calls keep coming.
If youâve ever wondered how to make a direct, meaningful impactâthis is it.
