As a winter storm is expected to impact our area this weekend we urge everyone to take this forecast seriously and prepare ahead of time. Snow and icy conditions significantly increase the risk of motor vehicle crashes, falls, and cold-related emergencies. Limit unnecessary travel during this time and be mindful of where your resources are. Our EMS crews will remain in service throughout the storm but hazardous road conditions can delay response times. Your preparation and caution can help keep both the public and first responders safe.

Attached below is from Morris County Emergency Management. Please take the time to read it as this could very well affect you or your loved ones.

Phone numbers to remember during this time:
- 911
- Public works in case you are in need of priority access: (620) 767-6116
- MRCO Sheriffs office: (620) 767-6310 -> this number should also be used if you are looking for access to the MRCO 4-H building as it will be utilized as a warming center.

Thank you for your diligence during this time and thank you to all first responders and medical personnel who will be working together this weekend against the weather.

Stay informed, stay prepared, and stay safe this weekend.

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”
- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Today we honor Dr. King’s legacy by reflecting on his message of equality, service, and standing up for what’s right. These very same values continue to guide us each and every day. Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Morris County EMS would like to wish everyone a safe and responsible start to 2026! 🎉

New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day are among the most dangerous times on the road because impaired driving increases significantly. If you plan to drink, plan a sober way home! Use a designated driver, a ride-share service, or stay where you are. Choosing not to drive impaired protects you, your friends, and everyone on the road.

Stay safe tonight and make the right choice. Happy New Year! 🎊

❄️Winter has arrived!❄️

With winter weather settling in we want to remind everyone to stay safe, stay warm, and stay prepared!

Here are a few safety tips to help keep you and your loved ones safe this winter 🤘

Drive Carefully! 🚑🚒🚓
- Slow down and increase following distance.
- Clear all ice/snow from your windshield and windows to maintain visibility.
- Keep an emergency kit in your vehicle. This kit could include items like: water, blankets/warm weather gear, flashlights, chargers, etc.

Dress for the weather! 🧤🧣🥾
- Wear layers. Items like hats, gloves, and scarves make a huge difference against this weather, along with proper footwear.
- Stay dry and limit your time outside exposed to the elements.

Be Mindful! ☃️ 🏂🛷
- Prevent slips and falls by using salt/sand on your driveways and walk ways.
- Prepare and make arrangements before the weather arrives! Stock up on water and non-perishable items. Along with flashlights, blankets, and chargers. Your vigilance now can prevent emergencies later!

Thank you for continuing to make safety a priority this season as your safety is our priority. From our crew to yours, please have a safe and enjoyable winter! ❄️

I am so glad that we are able to cover the county better since we have two crews. We also call less on Dickinson County EMS to mutual aid with us. I am very proud of my staff that has seen this change and the new staff we added. I am blessed to be in a county that supports us so well!
