A Legacy of Care and Compassion at Hallowell & James

The Mascio family has maintained a long-time connection to the Hallowell & James family. They've made arrangements for many family members, had visitations and funerals, and they've hosted their loved ones at both the Lagrange/Countryside and Downers Grove/Woodridge locations.

Vince Mascio Jr. assisted his longtime girlfriend Toni with her father's arrangements when he passed away. The choice became obvious as to where Vince and Toni would place their trust. Mr. Churlin was also a Korean War Veteran. Some members of the family considered other places, but it was clear from the moment they met with David Smetak, Manager of H&J's Downers Grove location, that the decision was made. His compassion and competence made the decision easy. Mr. Churlin received his full military benefits and his cemetery costs covered, with his burial at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. While many people refer to the Korean Conflict as the forgotten war, this Veteran was not forgotten, and he received every earned and deserved honor and benefit. David and the H&J staff made sure of it.
