Reminder to myself that I am making progress once again.

Chicken wings are one of my go-to "lazy" snacks. Lightly oil or butter them up if I want them crispier in the air fryer and then flavor afterwards Today I did a mix of black pepper, rice vinegar, sesame oil, eel sauce and soy sauce. Seriously can't get enough of it.

I used to run a fantastic and fun virtual fitness class centered around physical betterment whatever that meant to the person. With people having to physically return to work it made hard for people to continue.

But you know what, I WANT TO BRING IT BACK! I loved seeing all the smiling faces, the community of people motivating and congratulating each other as hit their own personal achievements.

That being said if you LOVE the idea of being able to get a great workout in the luxury of your own home, and know you'll do great working alongside others, so to speak, let me know!

In order to build up the vital internal parts of my body, I often have to challenge it, and by doing so I challenge myself. The nervous system is complex, but when we force it to focus on what we want to do the results are better cognitive function.

This act of rubbing the belly and patting one's head (or in my case holding weight above my head while I'm curl) helps my body rewire itself for the better over time.

I've applied this principle several times when helping Alyce through the days her body decides to work against her, and no matter what we come up on top. Yes, in reality she still may still be pain, BUT it's mild comparatively. And, she benefits from more bring able to relax more.

A lot of us are dealing with neck and shoulder pain for one reason or another. Try this:

1) standing your back to a wall (or similar tall surface) with the back of your head gently pressed against it, and your hands by your side; alternatively you can lie down on your back with your hands by your side
2) look straight on, take a deep breath all the way down passed your belly button, turn your head to look to your left and gently clench your fist along with the muscles in your arms.
3) As you slowly exhale, relax your hands and arm muscles at the same pace as your exhale as you also turn your head to look to your right. Time your breathing well to where you can inhale and tighten up your arms again once you are completely looking the to your right.
4) Repeat this easy movement for a total of 8 to 12 times. Done right, the tension in your neck and shoulders will be lessened.

I'm tired of struggling.

This is me admitting that I've been letting my struggles get the better of me for the past month.

About a year ago, I restarted my Martial Arts journey. It had been years since I was actively practicing within an association of any of the styles I was studying.

K*k Sool Won has been a breath of fresh air and a fresh challenge.

Lately low spin kicks, and holding my center of balance lower in stances have. been. hard.

Even though I've been diligent with my ankle conditioning from spraining them years ago, it can still be difficult.

I had to remind myself that steps are better than struggling through a whole maneuver. So I looked at the 3 steps I needed to focus on for my low spin kicks and went from there:

• holding my balance at the bottom
• keeping my knee up as I swing my kick
• swing my leg back without falling over

And you know, it went great! I got through 3x4 per leg, it wasn't the 3x10 I was looking for, but I did it. I made it. It still counts as a win for me.

So if you've made this far, break it down it steps and take it slow. You will come out the victor, and you will get better/faster before you know it. I believe in you.
