She came in with a goal of taking her health to the next level. She did her part, then needed the professional guidance of a personal trainer to come up with new and sensible fitness goals. She's now running her 5k's- 1/2 marathon's with ease and enjoyment and feeling much stronger overall. Proud of her accomplishments! Great job, Michelle!

Stomach pains, bloating, GERD, heart burn, food coma.....Need help digesting your food?! Like usual, most of our ailments can be solved with simple care of our body. Let me explain this picture-
Everyone's stomach is positioned on the left side of your body. The esophagus (food pipe), empties into the stomach (where food is broken down), and then slowly pushed into the small intestine. So why lay down on the left? The anatomical position of laying on your left hand side will use gravity to assist in digestion. Your food will have a more natural flow. If you lay on the right side, your stomach have to fight against gravity and rely on the sphincter to not allow any gastric juices back into the esophagus which causes numerous problems. This is true anatomy for everyone.

Of course, first and foremost it is best you stay seated or standing after a big meal. But once you let around 20 minutes go by, if you must lay down this is the recommended position.

Some things should be common knowledge. Nutrition is one of those subjects I'd like to help people have a common understanding of. This post is a simple explanation of diets. Essentially, they're all the same. Cut some macro or food type out to lose weight. Overall, a caloric deficit occurs which leads to fat loss. No magic diets, just a consistent plan that produces measurable outcomes.
