This weekend was one for the record books, literally. 🥇
Cliff Richards, Physical Therapist in our Maple Valley clinic, Tahoma High School grad, and longtime supporter of Tahoma Cross Country and Track & Field, set a Guinness World Record for the fastest mile on a knee scooter.
Patients, friends, and Tahoma students and alumni gathered on Saturday to cheer him on as he took on the challenge and yes, HE DID IT!
But for Cliff, the goal was bigger than the record.
As a physical therapist, he wanted to challenge the idea that injury means inactivity. His message is simple: fitness does not stop when you’re injured. It adapts. Limitations do not eliminate movement. They redefine it.
The record attempt was meant to be a lighthearted but visible way to promote adaptive fitness, resilience, and creative ways to stay active, even when your body is healing.
And honestly, in a world that can sometimes feel a little heavy, a world-record mile on a knee scooter might be exactly the kind of joyful, slightly ridiculous inspiration we all need.
Way to go, Cliff.
