Dr. Satya Reddy just got back from the American Academy of Ophthalmology Annual Meeting, where he served as an instructor for the 12th year in a row — training eye surgeons from around the globe in the latest ways to restore vision and repair complex eyes.
This year, he taught two of his specialties:
🔹 Intrascleral lens fixation – an innovative technique for placing a new lens when the eye’s natural “lens holder” is damaged. (Think of it as giving the lens a brand-new, custom built seat!)
🔹 Basement Membrane Anterior Keratoplasty (BMAK) – an advanced corneal procedure that helps patients with severe surface disease see clearly again. Dr. Reddy is currently the only surgeon in Louisiana performing it.
Fun fact: Dr. Reddy was also the first surgeon in Louisiana to perform the Yamane intrascleral fixation technique back in 2016 — and he’s been helping other surgeons master it ever since.
👏 Here’s to Dr. Reddy for continuing to teach, innovate, and prove that when it comes to eye surgery, he’s always looking ahead — literally.
