This is copied from an email that went out to our employees today from one of our Volunteer Coordinators in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day and it is beyond worth sharing. What random acts of kindness will you do this week? Please share in the comments-we'd love to hear about them!
"As we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day today, I’m reminded of one of his most powerful questions: 'Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’'
In hospice work, we live the answer to that question every day. Your compassion, presence, and dedication bring comfort to patients and families during some of life’s most vulnerable moments. It’s meaningful work, and I’m grateful for each of you.
In the spirit of Dr. King’s legacy, I’d like to invite all of us to take part in a simple but impactful challenge:
Do one random act of kindness each day for the entire week.
It doesn’t have to be big — a kind word, a small gesture, a moment of patience, or a helping hand can make a world of difference. Kindness has a way of rippling outward, and together we can create a week filled with positivity for our coworkers, our patients, and our community.
Thank you for everything you do, and for the heart you bring to this work. Let’s honor Dr. King by continuing to lift others up, one act of kindness at a time." - Shannon Pennington, Volunteer Coordinator, Covington Office
