Today we are highlighting Ashley, Braswell's Pharmacy Technician and the help she provides in our Pharmacy Care Team.
💬 Q&A Time
1️⃣ What inspired you to pursue a career in pharmacy, and what do you enjoy most about your role?
Funny story, I never pursued a career in pharmacy. I got thrown into the pharmacy at Publix when I was working as a cashier, and I just never left. I love being able to help people feel well and live better with the services I’m able to provide.
2️⃣ What’s one thing you wish more people knew about the work pharmacists and Techs do?
It doesn’t take 5 minutes to get a prescription ready. There are multiple components that go into filling prescriptions to make sure that we are dispensing the correct drug to the correct patient for the correct diagnosis. The pharmacists and technicians work together to accomplish these goals safely and successfully, but always within a timely manner for the patient.
3️⃣ How do you stay motivated or centered during busy days in the pharmacy?
My coworkers keep me centered and seeing my productivity levels keeps me motivated. I always have goals to complete every task, and I do my best to accomplish those goals on a daily basis, especially on busy days.
4️⃣ What’s a fun fact about you or a hobby you enjoy outside of work that might surprise people?
I play softball and I own 5 ferrets!
5️⃣ What do you enjoy most about serving our community, and how does your work in the pharmacy help make a difference?
Serving our community gives me a sense of purpose, in a way. I feel like I am here to help as many people as I possibly can with my day-to-day tasks at work. The work I do in the pharmacy makes a difference to my pharmacists and to the public we serve. I’m able to assist the pharmacist with tasks they don’t need to worry about because I have the knowledge, the skillset, and I’ve been given the right tools to accomplish these tasks successfully. I’m able to make a difference with the public by doing my daily duties.
