For the past decade, Ruth has been brightening hospital stays for young patients at St. Tammany Parish Hospital’s pediatrics unit — and more recently at the St. Tammany Health System Surgery Center. Through her colorful crocheted and knitted creations, she has shared comfort, kindness and a little extra love with more than 2,500 children.

Melvin Cutino completed another 40 treatments in our hyperbaric chamber. He came back to our location because... "A little kindness can go a long way. Because of my sickness, I am on my second 40-day treatment with the Outpatient Wound Care and Hyperbaric clinic. I want to express the love and kindness that was rendered to me as I went through my treatments, especially from Melanie. She took care of me every single day and showed me nothing but love and kindness. I pray that one day - this too shall pass."

❤️ Heart Health Month ❤️

Many patients are unsure about starting cardiac rehab, but the experience often becomes a powerful turning point in their journey to better heart health. “I fought my doctor about coming to cardiac rehab. Now I look forward to it now and the staff is friendly. I am hooked up to a heart monitor when I am there. Cardiac Rehab keeps me on schedule to exercise. It is fun, gets me out of the house and helps me mentally. Now I'm using my bike at home to exercise on my days off” - Clarence Weaver, current cardiac rehab patient.
