Today is World Autism Day! 💜

Established in 2007, the United Nations designated April 2 as World Autism Awareness Day to promote the full realization of human rights and fundamental freedoms for autistic individuals, ensuring their equal participation in society.

At St. Tammany Health System, we are working hard to do our part to better care for pediatric patients in our community with autism as six of our pediatric service lines hold a Certified Autism Center designation from the IBCCES.

We don't just want to become autism friendly, we want to be autism competent. Learn more about what STHS is doing to better support our patients, and learn how you can get involved and support this initiative for our community.

S.O.U.L. Day (Serving Others, United in Love) is an opportunity for 3rd, 5th, and 7th graders to sell handmade and homemade goods to other students. We are so grateful for these future leaders supporting our efforts to better care for diabetic patients in our community. 💚

Funded Friday is a series where we share with you some of the amazing programs, services, equipment and facilities that have recently been funded at St. Tammany Health System by YOUR dollars!

Recently, our Adult Critical Care Unit team came to us to request funding for the 2025 Beacon Award for Excellence from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. The Beacon Award recognizes hospital units that demonstrate sustained, high-level performance across key measures, including patient outcomes, nursing practice, quality improvement and workplace culture.

Our St. Tammany Health System Adult ICU is only of only three Louisiana institutions to receive this recognition and the only one on the Northshore!
