Today is National Pet Obesity Awareness Day. It's very important to make sure your pet is at a healthy weight. Obesity can contribute to diabetes, pancreatitis, an increased risk cancer, and can exacerbate arthritis. At Veterinary Holistic Healing, we believe that regular exercise and a balanced real food diet are best to prevent unwanted weight gain. Kibble contains a lot of carbs and just like in humans, carbs will cause weight gain in our furry friends too. We teach owners how to cook for their pets to help maintain a healthy weight and make sure they are receiving the most nutritious food to keep them healthy.

Anakin may only have three legs but he doesn't let that hold him back! This happy boy is full of life and energy. He gets regular acupuncture, as well as herbs and a quality glucosamine supplement, to help with his hip dysplasia and arthritis. Since starting treatment, his owner says he is up and around more and moving a lot better. "Dr. Posey and Kristi are absolutely amazing!
