A year ago this past Wednesday, our clinic faced an unimaginable loss — the passing of our sweet Samantha. Today, our team came together to honor her memory by celebrating some of her favorite things and ending the day with a balloon release, each of us sending a special note to our girl in the sky.

Samantha had a way of lighting up every room she walked into. Her kind smile, her positivity, and her constant encouragement lifted everyone around her. She always knew when someone needed a laugh, a pep talk, or just a friendly ear. Her laughter — often fueled by caffeine and the day’s shenanigans — still fills our hearts and clinic halls and reminds us daily to choose kindness, joy, and connection.

We talk about her often because she will always be a part of who we are — not just as a team, but as a family. Samantha’s spirit continues to inspire us every single day. 💛🌻

Covington Orthopedic would like to welcome our newest addition to our provider team, Anna Zwiebel, PA-C! Anna will be working with Dr. Schumacher and Brittany Ricks, FNP-C.

Anna is a board certified physician assistant who has a keen interest in orthopedic surgery. She was was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. Anna received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from LSU, where she graduated summa cm laude while also a member of the LSU volleyball team. She then went on to receive her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. Anna is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Outside of the clinic, Anna enjoys walking the lakefront, reading a good book, and visiting family and friends.

We are so excited to have Anna join our team! 💪🏼💙
