Dental Assisting students were introduced to a variety of dental materials and their clinical applications 🦷✨ During this lesson, they learned about the purpose, properties, and proper handling techniques for each material.

Additionally, students practiced the hands-on skill of correctly measuring and mixing various dental materials 🥣🧪 This reinforced the importance of consistency, timing, and accuracy in clinical procedures ⏱️📏

Experiences like this help build confidence, strengthen clinical skills, and prepare students for real-world patient care 💙👏

On February 11, our Dental Assisting students had the incredible opportunity to travel to University of Tennessee Health Science Center to volunteer for Give Kids a Smile 🦷💙

Becoming a dental assistant is about so much more than learning skills in the classroom — it’s about serving the community, showing compassion, and making a difference in the lives of patients. Through events like Give Kids a Smile, our students gain real-world experience while helping provide essential dental care to children who may not otherwise have access.

We are so proud of their professionalism, teamwork, and heart for service. Experiences like this truly reflect excellence through commitment! ✨

🌟 From Students to Co-Teachers! 🌟

Last week, our students made an exciting transition—from classmates to co-teachers! 👩‍🏫🦷 Knowing the potential for weather disruptions, Ms. Teresa Cantrell taught essential skills, observed students as they perfected them, and then empowered them to teach their classmates for hands-on practice.

💬 Student feedback said it was a huge success!

Students learned how to:
🦷 Chairside assist with a composite filling
🔩 Properly assess and place matrix bands
💉 Assemble and disassemble an anesthetic syringe

All while emphasizing safety, teamwork, and confidence every step of the way! 👏✨
