Dr. Jack Saux, medical oncologist at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Covington, was recently featured by Oncology News Central for the unique way he blends compassionate cancer care with creativity, community connection, and philanthropy.
Known affectionately as the “The Pirate Oncologist,” Dr. Saux uses costumes to bring smiles to patients while also leading an annual Pirate Party fundraiser that supports important services for cancer patients in our community.
His story is a powerful reminder that great cancer care is built on both science and humanity.

Money raised go directly in our community to help local patients at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Covington.

A huge THANK YOU to all you scallywags who came out and support this year pirate party! From the epic costumes to the endless laughter, you made it a night to remember. We raised our sails, danced our peg legs off, and shared plenty of grog and good cheer.

This multi-day day, multi-track CME/CE conference is expected to attract a large number of medical oncologists, cancer surgeons, radiation oncologists, and other physicians as well as advanced practice providers, medical trainees, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals. The conference will offer a wide variety of multi-disciplinary didactic sessions and expert panels, focused on the advanced management of cancer patients including the intersection of new and emerging therapies, novel surgical approaches, radiation oncology, target therapies, and the application of precision medicine, among many others!
