👅 A Tongue Tie Is More Than Just a Tongue Tie

When people hear “tongue tie,” they often think it’s just tight skin under the tongue- not much more to it. But the truth is — a tongue tie can impact so much more than you might expect.

Looking for easy ways to support speech and language development at home? Our Speech-Language Pathologists recommend starting with these simple tips:

✅ Talk about what you’re doing – Narrate daily routines like cooking, driving, or getting dressed.
✅ Give wait time – After asking a question, pause for a few seconds to give your child time to respond.
✅ Expand, don’t correct – If your child says “dog run,” try “Yes! The dog is running!”
✅ Read together daily – Even 10 minutes makes a BIG difference. Ask questions and talk about the pictures.
✅ Make it fun – Play, sing, and be silly! Learning happens best through connection and joy 💛
