South Central Developmental Services

South Central Developmental Services Respected lives in welcoming communities. South Central Developmental Services is located 821 J ST. We serve people in Dawson,Frontier, and Gosper counties.

Currently we have 66 individuals, and employs approximately 85 staff. Part of a system of statewide community based habilitative services for individuals with developmental disabilities. We have a Day/Employment Services center, that provides employment training, on-side job opportunities throughout the community, also services focus on retirement activities, and meeting peoples individualized needs. We also provide Community Living in Residential units operated by SCDS, Assisted living facilities and in homes of the individual.

SCDS had their all Staff party!  We made Gingerbread houses using our nondominant hand! Also enjoy the saran wrap ball!!

Clayton W- he and his cohort keep this place in tip-top shape in the maintenance area; he is friendly and always greets everyone. is always willing to help us solve maintenance issues we may have, and fixes things promptly at the building or in the houses.

Larry S- very dedicated to the guys he's worked with for so long, always respectful of that house and anyone who plays cards against them. Awesome at working with Ryan and making sure he is doing well, along with the other guys. He always shows up for work, and he will bring up any concerns with the guys

Alicia T- she is a very caring person and truly concerned for others' well-being

DAY SERVICE LEAD



Essential Duties and Responsibilities- but not limited to

Responsible for supporting people in reaching their goals. Facilitating personal outcomes for persons with disabilities is a basic principle for every position within SCDS.



Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities and role model such support to direct support staff. This support and training will enhance the individual’s skills and help him/her achieve goals. The person in this position may be required to work in various locations. The hours will be scheduled based on individual needs, which may include evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays. The Agency Administrator must approve overtime hours. Attendance will be required at various training sessions, allowing the support staff to expand their knowledge and provide quality services.

Individual Job Responsibilities:

Completes documentation related to training plans for staff.

Completes documentation for ISP program data/supports

Complete the month-ends

ISP program development and implementation, including writing goals/supports

The Day Service Lead assists in personnel management.



Knowledge/Abilities/Skills:

Demonstrated ability to meet timelines, adjust schedule, and prioritize tasks in order of importance.
The ability to interact with various people to provide outcome-based, person-centered services and supports.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with individuals in service, families, co-workers, external agencies and the general public.

Education: High School diploma or GED

Experience: Prefer one-year experience in the field of Human Services.

Driving Requirements: Valid Nebraska driver’s license.
(Driving records will be checked.)



Entry requirements for all positions:

Criminal records check

Central Registry check

Ability to read, write and comprehend the English language

At least 18 years of age

Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds, regularly lift up to 10 pounds, frequently lift 25 pounds, occasionally lift 50 pounds.

Must have a Nebraska Driver's License.

Steve S helps fill in hours, works well with all the individuals on the floor and out in the community. has a great sense of humor, he helps with getting the people out into the community and assists the one's who currently are employed by local businesses'

Kathy J has been with SCDS for 30+ years. Her commitment and dedication to SCDS is unwavering. Through the years she has worked in all sorts of capacities and in several houses. The individuals she serves appreciate her generous support. She is a true asset.

Larry L Enjoys going out to eat and to the library every week, he likes to tell others about his day and ask how they are doing, he will be missed by his friends. he is a super great guy who asks me daily how I am doing and how my animals are. I sure will miss his smile and humor.

Raven W--Although relatively new to our organization she has been a great asset. Having her on our team makes all the difference. Her commitment to fostering a supportive and positive work environment does not go unnoticed. Thanks for all you do.

Gracie R-Employees like her make the organization what it is today. She brings her best to work every single day. Her work ethic and involvement are admirable, and we are fortunate to have someone as dedicated as Gracie onboard! Even though she is new, attends the training and shows up for her work schedule on time and the individuals like her!

Emma L-Always likes to look her best even adding the extra like jewelry. She is an inspiration and role model for others. is always happy to see others and tell them hi when she sees them, she enjoys being with her peers at home and in the community

This shout-out is for the week 10-12 to 10/17. Congratulations all!!

Susie W constantly displays outstanding dedication to SCDS with her professionalism and positive attitude. Her commitment to the individuals she serves is amazing. She will go above and beyond. When you see her on the dsc floor, you constantly see her engaging with individuals.

Abdi D is a true asset to our team. His presence not only uplifts those around him but also embodies the values we strive to uphold here at SCDS. His commitment and passion are unwavering. A great team player! He is well-liked by the individuals he serves and his coworkers. Although I have never worked with him yet, he came to my med aide class with all of his homework done and he is smart, asked questions and is very polite, and he can speak 3 languages I was excited to see him learn more skills and I'm sure he will be a great med aide. :) Was an awesome staff to have at Res 2 all the guys enjoyed him there, Monte really likes him working with him at Santa Fe

Annie C. Her infectious laugh and sense of humor is priceless. She is empathetic and genuinely cares for all those around her. Asking after others, making sure, they're ok. She is cheerful and helpful to her peers she loves to give staff a hard time when she can

Linda P has been willing to go work at other houses to cover hours when needed; the individuals like to have her with them. She has been here for many years and knows the individuals and their needs well and she strives to make sure those needs and wants are met. We are fortunate to have her here in our organization.

Joe Weaver is always cracking me up with his silly sense of humor, he likes to pick on the individuals and keep them guessing. (He picks on them in a good way and they love it)! He is always willing to listen to any concerns I have and handles it with grace and patience. Glad he is a part of our team. Hope he has a real scary costume again this year for our Halloween party!! :)

Mary B thirst for knowledge and wanting to be in the know is exceptional. She puts her ear to the floor to know things and loves to share the information. has taken on some challenges and has a very upbeat attitude about it; she likes to help her peers when she can and loves to laugh

Iliana....She has had to cover morning preparations for the day and keeps the floor running as it should when I leave early.
She is amazing on the floor, Iliana is always busy keeping our individuals doing things out in the community, she is very patient with staff and our individuals and does her job with no complaints.
So glad you are a part of our team!!!

Danielle H....She is always pleasant and willing to help. She is super sweet and kind to everyone. She treats our individuals with the utmost respect and is a joy to work around. She always has a smile for everyone. She always is upbeat and switching to days she is enjoying her day by getting the individuals involved in the activities and just visiting with them in the conversations around them.

Tasha....She is a willing volunteer at Food Pantry, and for her going to work even on the hard days. Tasha genuinely cares for others around and wears her empathy on her sleeve. Always has a greeting for you, even if she's greeted you many times already. Likes to be helpful and help others feel appreciated. Heavy with compliments for others.
