Nurse-Annish Welcome to Nurse-Annish, your dedicated mental health education and support source, managed & curated by a passionate RN. Hello everyone!

This page is your go-to resource for deepening your understanding of mental health and discovering ways to enhance your well-being. My name is Ann-Marie Lamin-Anthony, and I'm excited to be on Facebook as Nurse-Annish. I'm a registered nurse specializing in mental health. As a mental health nurse, my goal is to help people who struggle with mental illness, trauma, addiction, and other challenges. I see first-hand how common these issues are and how much stigma surrounds them. I want to use social media to help break down those stigmas and start meaningful conversations. On my page, I will share information about different mental health conditions, treatment options, coping strategies, and resources for support. I'll also share stories from my experiences as a nurse to give insights into recovery. My hope is that by helping to educate others, we can create more empathy and understanding. I enjoy cooking, shopping, and spending time with family when I'm not at the hospital. I'm looking forward to connecting with others as passionate as I am about mental health advocacy and community. Please message me if you have any questions or want to discuss specific topics. I'm here to help however I can. Follow Nurse Annish to stay informed and supported as you pursue better mental health. Let’s break the stigma and promote mental wellness together. Thanks for reading, and I look forward to getting to know you all better!

This Thanksgiving, I am looking back at the map of my life with so much gratitude. 🌍✈️
I am thankful for: The Journey: From the banking halls of Freetown to the psychiatric clinics of NJ. Every step, even the hard ones as a Direct Support Professional, prepared me for this moment. I'm humble!💕

🌟🦃I am thankful for the strength of my body and mind that allows me to keep showing up.🌟🦃
This year, my gratitude list is overflowing: My Family: For being my anchor.
My Patients: For teaching me resilience every single day.
My Health: For allowing me to do the work I love.
This Community: For your constant support and encouragement.

I am grateful for my resilience and the strength that carried me through this year.❤️🦃

🌟🦃Today, I am grateful for my own resilience. I thank myself for keeping me going🌟🦃
We spend a lot of time thanking others today, but don't forget to thank the person in the mirror. 🪞
Thank yourself for the battles you fought silently this year. Thank yourself for getting out of bed on the hard days. Thank your mind and body for carrying you this far.
What is one thing you are grateful for about yourself? Let me know in the comments! 👇🏾

If today feels heavy for you, you are not alone. 🤎

Social media is full of highlight reels, but for many, the holidays bring up grief, loneliness, or anxiety. It is entirely possible to be thankful for what you have while missing what (or who) you’ve lost.

Be gentle with yourself today. Your feelings are valid, even if they aren't "festive."

Thanksgiving can be full of love, but let’s be honest—it can also be full of noise, expectations, and difficult dynamics. 🦃✨
Remember: You are allowed to step away. You are allowed to say no to conversations that drain you. You are allowed to prioritize your mental health over "keeping the peace."
Take a deep breath. You are doing a great job.

2. MYTH: Medication is the only thing a psychiatrist does.
REALITY: Your brain health is complex! While medication management is a key tool, modern psychiatry often integrates behavioral health, psychotherapy, lifestyle adjustments, and wellness coaching. We prioritize a holistic plan tailored to you, not just a prescription.

He Cares For You: You Are Not Alone.
"Casting all your care on Him; for He cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7)
This is a powerful reminder that you are deeply valued. In times of mental distress, remember this truth: You are not alone in your struggle, and you do not have to carry every burden by yourself.

Finding healthy ways to 'cast your cares'—whether through prayer, community, or professional support—is an act of profound self-care.
We are here to help you navigate the process.

It's Sunday night, and the best way to conquer the week ahead is to prepare yourself, not just your schedule! Use this checklist to reset your mind and body before Monday morning hits. You deserve this time. 🤍
✨ The Ultimate Sunday Reset
✅ Body & Comfort
• Take a warm bath or shower (add Epsom salts or essential oils!)
• Do a quick stretch or 10 minutes of gentle yoga.
• Apply a face mask or your favorite lotion/self-massage.
• Get into fresh, cozy pajamas.
✅ Mind & Planning
• Plan your top 3 tasks for Monday (to avoid morning rush anxiety).
• Clear the "clutter corner" (a small tidy-up makes a difference).
• Write down 3 things you're grateful for from the past week.
• Read a physical book (no screen time for 30 min before bed).
✅ Nourishment & Sleep
• Drink a cup of herbal tea (chamomile or lavender).
• Make sure your water bottle is filled for the morning.
• Set your alarm/phone away from your bed.
• Aim for a consistent bedtime.
Which one are you checking off first tonight? Let me know in the comments! 👇
