New BASE programming starts Tuesday, April 28th.

This month is focused on building lean muscle, improving conditioning, and developing strength you can repeat under fatigue. Our 3-day, 60 minute sessions are structured around:

- Upper body hypertrophy to build muscle, balance push/pull strength, and improve shoulder stability
- Lower body hypertrophy focused on glutes, unilateral strength, and controlled hinge patterns
- Conditioning sessions designed to improve work capacity, recovery, and movement under fatigue
- Breath integration and bracing to create stability, protect joints, and improve force transfer
- Submaximal loading with controlled tempo to drive progress without burnout

Through split squats, hip thrusts, single-arm pressing and rowing, carries, crawls, and interval work, you’ll build muscle while improving how your body performs and recovers.

Why BASE matters: Body recomposition doesn’t come from random workouts. It comes from structured training that builds muscle, improves capacity, and reinforces movement quality over time. BASE gives you the system to do all three.

This is hypertrophy training applied with structure, control, and intent. You’ll feel the work, build the muscle, and improve conditioning without sacrificing recovery.

366 days. That’s real.

Steph, we’re proud of you. The way you handled this past year, showing up, staying consistent, and taking care of your health says everything.

And Nick, right there with you the whole time. That kind of support matters.

This is what it’s about. Not just training, but doing what you need to do for your health and sticking with it.

Thank you for trusting us and for sharing this. If there’s one takeaway, go get your screenings done.

Onward and upward ❤️💪

New strength block starts Monday, April 27th.

STRENGTH BLOCK THEME: Submaximal Strength, Wendler 5/3/1

May is where strength becomes sustainable. This block is built around the Wendler 5/3/1 method, focusing on submaximal loading, controlled progression, and repeatable performance. Instead of constantly chasing max effort lifts, we train just below that threshold to build strength that actually lasts.

Using structured percentage based progressions, each main lift develops over a 5 week wave. This allows for consistent exposure to increasing intensity while managing fatigue and preserving movement quality. The result is better bar speed, stronger positions, and more efficient force production over time.

Each session is built around a primary lift, but follows a full body approach. Accessory work reinforces joint integrity, unilateral strength, and structural balance while supporting the main movement patterns. Supersets keep sessions efficient and allow you to train hard without unnecessary wear and tear.

The focus is not just lifting heavier weights. It is building strength through clean reps, better control, and consistent progression. This is how you develop strength that carries over to real world movement and long term performance.

Welcome to KING Strength, Aparna 👊

Aparna is a pelvic floor physical therapist and the founder of , where she specializes in pelvic health and helping people move and feel better from the inside out.

She’s now stepping into her own training, focusing on getting stronger and continuing to practice what she teaches every day.

We’re excited to have her in the community.

Let’s get to work 💪

Happy 1 year gym anniversary, Regina 💪

Part of the 4pm crew and a big part of what makes it what it is. Always showing up and putting in the work.

A lot can change in a year and you’ve proven that. One year down, plenty more ahead.

WORKSHOP: Lift the Weight of Anxiety

At KING Strength we train our bodies every day, but most people were never taught how to train their response to stress.

In honor of National Stress Awareness Month, we’re partnering with and Dr. Hemisha Patel Urgola, PsyD, who is also a valued member of our gym community, to host a one hour workshop designed to help you better understand anxiety and learn how to work with it instead of against it.

We will explore the science of anxiety and how it shows up in the body and mind, while also blending breathwork and recovery based techniques to help you physically release stress and build a calmer, more resilient nervous system.

Mahawish has been putting in the work during her semi private sessions with Coach Issac with the goal of getting stronger in her weak points.

Here she’s working through a bench press variation using chains. As the bar moves up, more chain comes off the ground increasing the load. On the way down, the load decreases. This creates accommodating resistance that matches your strength curve.

This specifically targets the top half of the bench press the lockout where many people lose strength and slow down.

Why we use chains
They make the top of the lift harder where you’re strongest and lighten the bottom where you’re more vulnerable. This helps build strength through the full range without overstressing the shoulders.

Benefits
• Improves lockout strength
• Builds power and bar speed
• Reinforces control through the full range
• Reduces joint stress at the bottom
• Teaches proper pressing mechanics

Exercise selection and small variations like this allow us to target specific weaknesses and get more out of every rep. This level of detail is what separates working out from training.

Coach Steve on the new treadmill 🔥

We just added a new treadmill to the floor and we want you using it.

Before your semi private sessions, hop on for a few minutes. Get warm, get loose, get your body ready to actually train.

After your workout, stay on it. Incline walking, steady pace, nothing crazy just consistent effort.

If you have body transformation goals, this is where it starts. Small pieces done consistently. Low impact, easy on the joints, and it adds up fast.

Or if you want to pick it up and run, you’ve got that option too.

Sprint towards summer starts now. Don’t skip it. Use it 💪

New tool on the floor The bamboo earthquake bar.

Coach Issac breaks it down while Tbone puts it to work.

This bar is all about shoulder stability. The banded hanging weights create constant movement, forcing your shoulders, rotator cuff, and upper back to stay locked in and controlled through every rep.

Why use it
- Builds shoulder stability and control
- Strengthens the rotator cuff and upper back
- Improves joint health and resilience
- Reinforces better pressing mechanics

Lighter load, higher demand. You’ll feel this one fast. If you want shoulders that not only look strong but stay strong, this is a go to 💪

New equipment at KING Strength 🔥

Coach Issac breaks it down while Tbone puts the leverage squat to work.

This plate-loaded leverage squat gives you the feel of a heavy squat with a guided path, so you can stay locked in, move with control, and train hard without loading the spine like a barbell.

What it hits
Quads (primary), glutes, hamstrings, and core

Why we love it
- Big quad focus with an upright torso
- More joint-friendly and less lower back stress
- Controlled, stable movement for better technique
- Easier to push intensity and get closer to failure safely

A great option for building strength, adding muscle, and getting quality lower body work in without beating yourself up 💪
