Do you live one day at a time?

I don't just mean physically. I do realize how people may take this question literally.

I know I'm guilty of not always living in the present moment emotionally. Sometimes I catch myself thinking of the past. Most times they are great memories, but sometimes I can dwell on past mistakes or hardships. Then you know what happens to me? I start to obsess how not to make the negative things happen again and I'm truly not living in the present moment. I made this mistake so many times. I came to the conclusion that this made me feel like I was just existing in life instead of living life. What??!!

I'm certain you have this happen to you. All of us have. Now, when I catch myself dwelling on the past or future, I pivot my thoughts to the NOW!

Today is a GIFT you give YOURSELF. Make sure when you open YOUR PRESENT, it's everything you'd hope it would be. Remember, one day at a time....

Do you worry about what other people think of you?

I don't know about you, but I struggled with this issue for a long time. I always wanted everyone to like me. There are times I've gone out of my way for people and they couldn't even say "thank you", but I kept on doing it. Why? Because I wanted to be accepted by everyone who I interacted with. I found this kind of energy I spent was exhausting at times.

There is truth behind the phrase, "With age comes wisdom". In our teens and 20's we are very concerned about our physical appearances. In our 30's, we are still concerned, but it does not consume us as our focus can change to family and careers. In our 40's, we can start "soul searching" and we spend less time focusing on our physical appearances. In our 50's and older, we focus on daily life, improvement, and helping others not so much on everything else.

Wisdom can happen at any age really. Never worry about what others think about you. It's truly a waste of your energy. You're not going to please everyone. It's impossible. Concentrate on singing YOUR own song. The people that matter will love you and your haters will sing their own song. Now, doesn't that feel freeing?

Who do you surround yourself with?

Do you help build people up or do you gossip and belittle the people you are with?

Always take the higher road. This comes to yourself to. Always take time to celebrate yourself. When you do, you attract the same energy. Be in gratitude and celebrate the people who are a part of your life currently and in the past. Never destroy someone. In turn, it destroys you.

Cherish people. Love attracts love. Help each other win!
