Joyce Z. (Mooradian) Yeremian

84, passed away November 26, 2025. Born in Providence to Parsegh and Nartig Mooradian. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert H. Yeremian. She is survived by her loving sons Robert and Gregory, her sister Mariam Norigian, her niece Roxanne Hasmig Phillips and her husband Mark, her great niece Alysha Melkoun and her husband Antuan, her great great niece Abigail Melkoun, her great nephew Tyler Phillips, her nephew Mark “Bunky” Norigian and his wife Melissa, her great nephew Ryder Norigian, her nephew Paul DerAnanian and his wife Carolyn, her great nephew Paul DerAnanian Jr., her great niece Nicole DerAnanian along with many loving family members and friends.

Joyce’s father Parsegh was a genocide survivor who came to America in 1919 and her parents were the first married couple in Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Church on March 31, 1940. Her mother’s father, Hagopos Ayvazian was a famous musicologist and teacher at the Armash Vank in Turkey, who was taken away in 1915 and killed. Joyce was extremely proud of her Armenian heritage and was active in the Armenian Church her whole life. She joined the choir and AYF at 13 and sang on and off in the choir for 58 years. She was a member of the Armenian Chorale in the 1960’s and 70’s under Rouben Gregorian directing. Then from 1990-2010 she was a member of the Armenian Chorale with Konstantin Petrossian directing.

She was an active member of the AYF, the ARS “Ani” Chapter as chairlady for many years and also serving as chair of the ARS Social Services Committee for over 20 years. With the ARS, she planned monthly bus trips for the seniors for 15 years. Also from 2005-2010, each year with donations from the community, she prepared hundreds of boxes in her garage to be sent to Armenia with airlifts donated by Kirk Krikorian in CA. Over $110,000 of goods were sent. Through the church and the ARS, she started working with families in 1973 from the Middle East and then again in the 1980’s and 90’s with families from Armenia and Baku helping 45 families. Until her death, she did what she could do to help families in need.

Her involvement with Sts. Vartanantz Church was long. She served as a NRA delegate, served on the Armenian Fest Committee as one of the coordinators for almost 20 years, has refurbished the dining hall twice, and the library. She served on many committees such as the steering committee and the endowment committee for the church and as needed for other functions.

Other organizations she has volunteered for are: Co-Chairman of the Armenian Martyrs’ Memorial Committee of RI, Govdoon Youth of America, Armenian Historical Association of RI, and ASA. Joyce, along with her husband Robert, was instrumental in organizing the bazaar at Sts. Sahag and Mesrob Church for many years.

In 1992, Der Vartan Kassabian was ordained and moved to Granite City. Joyce became the caretaker for his mother Rose and sister Roxanne for 14 years until he moved back to the East coast.

She was trained as a Medical Laboratory Technician at Lying-In-Hospital and worked there for 8 years followed by working and retiring from the Providence VA Hospital after 26 years.

Her loving, generous spirit was touched by all who knew her and will live on for generations.

Family and friends are invited to visitation Thursday, December 4 from 9:00 to 11:00 with a funeral service at 11:00 at Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, Providence followed by burial at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.

Cheryl Ann (Reardon) Gouveia

62, of Cranston, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025. Born in Attleboro, MA, she was the daughter of the late Gary and Hazel (Skeese) Reardon.

Cheryl was a beloved figure in the lives of many, known for her unwavering dedication and compassion as a registered nurse. She devoted her entire career to Women and Infants Hospital, where she made a significant impact on countless lives before retiring.

Cheryl is survived by her loving daughters, Amanda Gouveia and Jessica Albarran and her husband Erik, her sister Lisa Hetland and her husband Arnie, her brother Michael Ann Reardon and his wife Wendy, and her former husband Carlos Gouveia, with whom she shared a strong bond.

Cheryl's passion extended beyond her profession; she cherished the time spent in the company of her loved ones. Her two daughters, Amanda Gouveia and Jessica Albarran, along with Jessica's husband Erik, were her pride and joy. Cheryl relished her “mommy and me days” with her daughters and her son in-law Erik, creating a bond filled with love and shared experiences. She embraced the holidays with enthusiasm, and enjoyed meaningful gatherings with friends, celebrating life’s moments with laughter and joy.

A woman of many interests, Cheryl had a love for shopping and international travel, which brought her great happiness and memories. She also delighted in day trips to her friends’ beach house, immersing herself in the beauty of nature and the ocean. Her gentle spirit was further reflected in her selfless nature; she always found time to help others in need, embodying the true essence of kindness.

Cheryl’s warmth extended not only to her family but also to her cherished friends, who will remember her for her boundless love and vivacious spirit. She took great joy in the simple pleasures of life, spending quality time with her grand puppies and her beloved cat, Lenny.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, December 3rd, from 4:00-6:00 p.m., with a eulogy to be held at 5:00 p.m. by her devoted daughters in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. 96, passed away on Saturday evening, on November 22, 2025 at the Stillwater Skilled Nursing home in Greenville RI, with her loved ones by her side.

Born in Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. Fay of Providence, and Alice M. (St.Lawrence) Fay, of Fall River MA. She was the sister of the late Francis “Sonny” J. Fay, and Lillian Catherine (Fay) Barden-Papcke. She was also the former wife of the late, Joseph J. Boreiko Sr. of Cranston RI.

She is survived by her children, Alison (Boreiko) Hanson of Chepachet, Joseph J. Boreiko and Deborah M. (Boreiko) Fuller of Florida.

Gladys worked for a Berkander Manufacturing in the south side of Providence. She worked in the shipping department for many years. She also worked at Kmart at night for 22 years, working both jobs at the same time. She loved being outside in her garden and most of all, loved spending time with her grandkids.

Her funeral services will be private, per her request.

83, of Cranston, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025. She was a daughter of the late Charles and Jovanna (Martone) Petrovich.

Marie married the love of her life, John Albert Pezzullo Jr, who passed away in 2006 after an extended illness. Marie showed true love and devotion by selflessly caring for husband during that time.

Marie was a very talented artist. She shared her joy of crafting and artistic ability by gifting many centerpieces, holiday wreaths, floral arrangements and decorations that are still enjoyed to this day by her children, family, and friends.

96, of Johnston, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025 at the Morgan Health Center in Johnston. He was the beloved husband of the late Evelyn (DeQuattro) Rainone. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Pastore) Rainone.

He is survived by his loving son, Michael J. Rainone, brother-in-law Albert DeQuattro, and brother of the late Rae Rini.

Michaelangelo worked as a Baker for many years. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean War era.

age 89, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, at Brentwood Nursing Home in Warwick, RI. Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Arvo and Rose (Paradis-Bibeau) Reinikka and the wife of the late Robert F. Evans.

She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn M. Evans and her husband Tim Doherty, her son Daniel F. Evans, her daughter-in-law Adrienne Evans, her beloved granddaughters, Aili Rose Calore and Hannah Joan Sowa and their husbands, Michael Calore and Alex Sowa, and her beloved great grandchildren, Eleanor Calore and Owen, Camille, and Daphne Sowa.

Joan was kind, generous, diligent, non-judgmental and unfailingly ethical, values she fostered in her children and grandchildren, always trusting that they would do the right thing. She was also stoic and exasperatingly stubborn, which are among the qualities that helped her to persevere through many challenges in her life, including nursing her husband back from cancer and the heartbreak of losing two sons, Michael P. Evans and Thomas J. Evans, to multiple sclerosis.

She will be missed and fondly remembered for her practical wisdom and under-the-radar sense of humor, her delight in dining out and conversation over cups of tea, her knowledge of Reinikka and Evans family lore, and lively Sunday dinners where she served her delicious spaghetti sauce, pasta, meatballs, and eggplant parmesan.

Joan was a 1954 graduate of Central High School in Providence and a resident of Cranston, RI, for many years before moving to St. Elizabeth Assisted Living in Providence. Prior to her retirement, she worked in the field of disability support assisting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Her burial at St. Anne’s Cemetery in Cranston was private. The family is very grateful for the compassionate care Joan received from the staff of Brentwood Nursing Home and Beacon Hospice Care.

Louis S. Coccia, 72, of Exeter Rhode Island, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, including his dog and grand dogs, and a crackling fire. He was the cherished husband of Joyce A. Faraone for 45 years, and beloved dad of his daughter Lucianna Faraone Coccia and daughter in-law Tasia Wells. Besides his wife, daughter, and daughter-in law, he is survived by his loving mother Margaret Coccia. He also leaves behind his sister Jean Kenney, brother-in-law Kevin Kenney, brother in-law Paul Altruda, sister-in-law Jody Desiderato, nephew Kevin Kenney, great nephews Jack and Joseph, nephew Jerry Desiderato his wife Christa, and great nephews Alex and Luca, his niece Meg Kenney, her partner Kimberly Rego and his great nephew Nathan. Della was the devoted mother of Sheron Lial of Cranston, Dolores G. Rizzo of Danielson, CT and the late Francesco “Frank” Rizzo; cherished grandmother of nine; loving great-grandmother of fourteen and great great-grandmother on nine.

Della loved politics, bingo, the casino and cooking for family gatherings.

Michael G. Riley, a beloved family man, committed contrarian, and cherished member of his community, passed away on November 20, 2025, with his family by his side. He was born on April 11, 1956, on the Pensacola Naval Base in Florida.

A D1 athlete, accomplished thinker, and beloved family member, Michael is remembered for his enduring love and his commitment to those around him. He is survived by his devoted wife, Laurie Kelly, and their children: Brett Kelly-Riley (husband Louis); Quinn Kelly-Riley; and Ford Kelly-Riley. Michael also took great joy in being a grandfather to Joziah.

Well-experienced in all aspects of the financial industry, Michael worked in the New York, Chicago and Philadelphia financial exchanges. He served as an Option Specialist and Floor Official on the American Stock Exchange for over 20 years. He survived both the bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993 and the attacks of September 11, 2001, yet still remained steadfast and resilient in his pursuit of knowledge, integrity, and liberty. Upon retiring in 2003, Michael relocated to Rhode Island with his wife and children. A proud MENSA member, his curiosity and love of learning would not allow him to stay still for long, as he would later become involved with the worlds of private equity and hedge fund management. He was successful in these pursuits, as he often was, winning a Lipper Award for Best Hedge Fund 2009.

Michael’s innate moral compass and problem-solving abilities often found him in the realm of politics. He had numerous runs for political office, beginning with roles at the town level and culminating in a spirited run as the Republican candidate for Rhode Island’s second Congressional district. Later in life, he served as the Chair of the Rhode Island Center for Freedom and Prosperity, as well as Treasurer of the Southeastern Legal Foundation. Throughout his life, he loved spending time with his pets, solving puzzles, and making his friends and family laugh.

In addition to his immediate family, Michael is survived by his sister Christine Simko, along with her husband Mark; his brother Steven Riley, and sister-in-law Amy; and his nieces, Megan and Marissa and a nephew Kevin Kelly.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Barbara (Bensley) Riley and Ivers W. Riley, who provided him with a strong ethical and moral foundation that served him throughout his life.

A visitation to honor Michael's life will be held at Nardolillo Funeral Home - South County Chapel in Narragansett, Rhode Island, on November 24, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at the same location from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Michael G. Riley leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience, which will resonate within the hearts of all who knew him. His contributions to his family and community will not be forgotten, and his memory will forever remain alive in the stories they share.

Mary Rowe Carlson, OCDS Passed peacefully in hospice care, surrounded by the love of her family, November 19, 2025.

Mary was the beloved wife of Lawrence “Ted” Carlson, with whom she shared a life of deep faith and devotion. She was the cherished mother of Amy Smith Knobloch and Leon Smith IV (Laura); loving grandmother to J.T. Mergenhagen (Lexxy), Joshua Knobloch, Samantha Knobloch; and Olivia Smith and proud great-grandmother of John and Ryan Mergenhagen.

Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, Mary always carried her hometown in her heart, but it was Rhode Island where she and Ted built a life together. She came from a large and loving family—Mary had eleven brothers and sisters, and she cherished her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Mary was a lifelong learner and a woman of extraordinary compassion. She earned a degree in Environmental Design (1976) and later, following her calling to serve others, completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (1991), both at the University at Buffalo. She went on to dedicate 25 years of care and service through the Visiting Nurses Association of Western New York, offering comfort, dignity, and skilled support to countless patients and families.

Her deepest spiritual home was within the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites (OCDS), where she embraced a life of contemplative prayer, humility, and service in the Carmelite tradition. Her faith was quiet but profound, shaping the way she lived, loved, and cared for others. In Rhode Island, Mary was a member of the Divine Will prayer group.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday November 24, 2025, at 9:30 am at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Point Judith Rd., Narragansett, RI 02882. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Visiting hours are kindly omitted. Burial will be private.

Anthony Borzaro, 88, passed away peacefully on November 8, surrounded by his loving family.

A devoted husband to the late Jean (D’Amico) Borzaro, Anthony was the beloved father to Joseph (Debra), Debra Simone (Michael), Diane Lorraine (Daniel), and Anthony (and his late wife Christine). He was the proud grandfather of Sabrina, Daniel, Christina, Raymond, Anthony, Amanda and great-grandfather of eleven.

A graduate of La Salle Academy and Roger Williams University, Anthony worked alongside his father and later his son at Borzaro Construction, where he led the family’s commercial construction company for 55 years. He also was a longtime volunteer coach with Olneyville Little League, sharing his love of baseball and dedication to his community.

Anthony will be remembered for his kindness, wisdom, and devotion to his family. His family finds comfort in knowing he is reunited with Jean, his beloved wife and partner of so many cherished years.

Santo J. Riccitelli, PhD

a beloved professor at the Community College of Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on August 29, 1932, in Johnston, Rhode Island, Santo's life was characterized by a profound commitment to education, service, and family.

Santo achieved remarkable academic success, earning his bachelor’s degree from Providence College, followed by two master’s degrees, from New York University and from Columbia University. He completed his educational journey with a Doctorate from Boston College. His passion for teaching and learning inspired countless students throughout his career.

In addition to his dedication to education, Santo honorably served in the United States Navy, where he developed a strong sense of duty and resilience that would carry throughout his life. A celebrated member of the academic community, he was also involved with Delta Epsilon Sigma and held the position of Past President of the Rhode Island Council of Teachers of English.

Beyond his professional achievements, Santo cherished his time spent with family. He is survived by his cherished nieces, MaryBeth Bennett, Jana Gillette, and Judi Cavalieri, as well as 14 great-nieces and great-nephews, and 6 great-great-nieces and great-nephews. His legacy of love and wisdom will continue to shine through them.

Santo was predeceased by his parents, Angelo and Elizabeth (Casey) Riccitelli, and his siblings: Mary B. Capperalli, Virginia Paesano, Angela Riccitelli, Elizabeth Riccitelli, Louis Riccitelli, and Helen Riccitelli. He also mourned the loss of his nephew, Louis A. Riccitelli, Jr.

In his leisure time, Santo enjoyed traveling, gardening, and experiencing the magic of Broadway shows and musicals. These interests enriched his life and fostered connections with others who shared his passions.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 10am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 301 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
