Join us for our Hard-of-Hearing Peer Support Group and learn to prepare for emergencies using your smartphone!

This month, we will cover how to use built-in safety features on your smartphone and smartwatch, including SOS calls and sharing critical health information. We will also discuss how the Rhode Island Special Needs Emergency Registry (RISNER) can assist you during an emergency.

The Spaulding Outpatient Rehabilitation Centers of Kent Hospital are hosting their 5th annual Easter Egg Hunt for children with special needs!

Rain or shine the event takes place Saturday, March 28, 2026 12:30-2:00pm Rain or shine! The Easter Egg Hunt will start at 1:00pm.

Check-in starts at 12:30 pm with games, food, refreshments and photos. This event is wheelchair accessible. Appearances by both the Easter bunny and fairytale princesses!

This MLK day we want to celebrate the achievements of Dr. King in the Civil Rights Movement. We also want highlight how Dr. King's framework for civil rights paved the way for disability justice in the United States. Working in disability services we recognize how racism and ableism are tied together and we stay committed to dismantling all barriers that keep people disenfranchised.

The civil rights movement reshaped the nation’s understanding of discrimination, access, and equality as matters of fundamental rights. This shift opened the door for every civil rights struggle that followed, including disability rights.

Here's something pretty cool: for the first time, an AAC device has been added to the Barbie collection. Barbie just released the first autistic Barbie in partnership with SAN (Autistic Self-Advocacy Network). She has a pink tablet loaded with an AAC application to help with everyday communication!
