First day with the gang all here!!!! Clearly we are a fun group of therapists.

Yes, we are still under construction. It is a beautiful example of what therapy is like. We are functioning and will continue to improve. There will be moments of relapse.

Today there was a box from Whogivesacrap.org on the table. You know who gives a crap? This team. Excited to see what is to come.

WELLLLL we are all cozy in our new offices at 1003 Shady Lane. I am excited to talk to Crawfordsville - Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce about doing a little Taco to Me About Mental Health or a Tamale all Your Problems in April/May to welcome people to our new space.

Well new to the guys. This home was repurposed from the home of my grandparents to our new office space. I spent my childhood drinking Tang, eating turkey bacon, and playing hide 'n' seek in these walls. My grandma would greet the sun with tapping the keys in her pocket, humming, in what is my now office. My father and FBU (favorite blood uncle) slept on a built-in bunk bed in Doug's office. (Look for how that wood turns up later). Jeremey is playing with GI Joes where my FBA (favorite blood aunt) played with her Barbies.

My maintenance team including admin/husband have been working diligently for the changes over the last few months. We insulated interior walls for sound. Paneling was removed. Mudding and taping occurred. Different friends provided paint, unknowingly. Other friends had pizza, paint, and prayer nights. Discovered hardwood floors that have character. The HVAC and water heater decided to go out in the same week. Financial situations changed. Hiccups happened. Phase 1 is done.

I have wrestled with reflecting on the past and perusing the future. Attempting to find balance in honoring and grieving while also expressing joy and hope. This is the work we do as therapist. Provide a SAFE space for you to wrestle with what dissonance you have in your own life. We share in the victories, reflect patterns, and support you in effective communication with those around you, including you.

When you are ready, call for your seat at The Table. 765.231.5672

Some say that the 3rd Monday of January is the saddest day, calling it Blue Monday. Some say it is January 15th. I recently heard it was January 18th, known as Quitter's Day. Whatever you call it, each represents a time period when the "new year, new you" vibe meets the reality of bills and the return to life at the high of the holiday season.

Well, it doesn't have to be that way. Community is one of the best ways to stay active in your goals. Who have you told about your goal? Who knows to ask about the gym or the new book you are reading? Who is going to ask where you were if you miss yoga?

Another helpful thing is to make S.M.A.R.T (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Reward, Timely) goals. Growth is its own reward, but I like to give things away.

Comment below with what you are doing and how you are keeping after you goals this year, even if you haven't been perfect. I will pick a winner for a $100 gift card for Wild Fire Pizza.

An extra high five if you share how you already got behind and are catching up!

Chenel from Choice Wellness Company popped over yesterday to pick the winner for the December give away. We had fun making the video and will share the winner when it is all edited. Until then enjoy some of the recommendations from others to get rid of the winter blues.

Stop by 115 N Green Street to enter to win a basket of goodies (pictures to come) just in time to help entertain for Christmas. There is one condition.....You have to share why you are grateful today.

Gratitude has been shown to challenge anxious thoughts and lead to a longer life. In therapy, we love to hear about what is going well.

Don't believe me? Check this out and then come enter with a gratitude to win.

When I graduated with my MSW, I had a professor read us a Dr. Seuss book, Oh the Place You Will Go. He made it like 3 pages before he started crying. He encouraged us to think about the shoulders we were standing on as we walked across the stage and received our hoods.

Today with tears in my eyes, I think about my grandfather, Lowell T Wilson. Ornery to say the least. Arrested 76 times before he was 17yo which lead to the option to join the Armed Forces (Army) or go to jail. He was SO SO proud to have fought for our freedoms, and was not afraid to remind you of it. He would have LOVED to have been in the parade today.

Thank you to all the individuals who have served. And to those who served today setting up such an awesome experience.
