Brian McAnulty
( November 28, 1962 - March 7, 2026 )
Brian Jay McAnulty, aged 63, finally won his race to Jesus’s warm embrace on March 7, 2026. He passed away in Brownsburg Healthcare Center in Brownsburg, Indiana with his family at his side.
He was born on November 28, 1962 in Montgomery County, Indiana to the late Carl Jackie McAnulty and Shirley Joan (McAnulty) Welsh. Brian was very involved in FFA, being elected to a State Chair Position, Go Karting, and swimming competitively while attending Southmont High
School.
Brian had a strong work-ethic from an early age. He began working with local farmers at the age of 12, driving tractors and trucks, bailing hay, planting, and harvesting. After High School, Brian attended Purdue University short-term, before feeling the need to get back to work. He worked at R.R. Donnelley’s in Crawfordsville, like many of his family members. While working at Donnelley’s, Brian felt the Patriotic call to serve his country. He enlisted in the Army National Guard, where he served and rose in rank to a Specialist 4 in the 139th Field Artillery Unit.
After he was Honorably Discharged from the Army National Guard, he met and married Terri Gross and had one child. He later married Joey Prince and had 2 children.
He lived in Nantahala, North Carolina and frequently felt the call to return to the mountains for their beauty and serenity. Brian was a fixer and if you looked up the definition for the Jack of All Trades, you would see his crooked grin. Brian worked with his Father in Flatonia, Texas as the Plant Manager and Head Machinist at Texas Custom Grinding. He was very involved in his local community, serving on the Flatonia Chamber of Commerce.
After his Father passed away in 2020, Brian built his own business as a General Contractor. If it was a part of your house or even in your yard, Brian could build or repair it. But his favorite thing to do was to flip and renovate old houses. He could do all of the work within a house, from plumbing and electrical, to custom cabinetry and trim, to tile work and outdoor pizza ovens. Brian was very proud of his attention to detail, his customer service, and the business he had built for himself.
But Brian’s true pride was watching and being involved in his children’s lives. He never missed a band concert, Friday night football game to cheer on the band, golf tournament, or 4-H meeting. Brian was a devoted Father and found endless pride and joy in his children’s successes. He even tried to brave a blizzard (Winter Storm Stella) while pulling a goose-neck trailer of instruments home from New York City, when his daughter performed at Carnegie Hall.
Brian had a passion for many things; gardening, tinkering, grilling, and repairing and restoring farm and garden tractors, but his greatest passion was for Nascar. Growing up a stone’s throw from the Indy 500, racing was practically absorbed into his blood through the water he drank.
Although it sadly wasn’t completed, his dream was to watch the Daytona 500 in-person. He loved spending time with family, watching the latest Taylor Sheridan show on Paramount, and playing cards.
He is survived by his mother, Shirley Welsh of Crawfordsville, Indiana, his 4 siblings: Brenda Roush (William) of Lafayette, Indiana, Craig Welsh (Julie) of Parr, Indiana, Bradley McAnulty (Linda) of Crawfordsville, Indiana, and Kerry Welsh (Debbie) of Paducah, Kentucky. His Best Friend and Brother in his Heart: Larry Meadows (Jennifer). His 3 children: Briley McAnulty- Koufteros (Christi), Bailey Langenegger (Michael), and Thomas McAnulty (Analicia). 14 nieces and nephews: Cody Michael (Brittany), Kristi Michael (Isaac), Canaan Passmore (David), Josey Prince (Kazz), Lindsey Mancuso (Chris), John Welsh, Tyler Welsh (Tayler), Madisyn Welsh (Russell), Ryan Welsh, Jetta Prince, Ian Roush (Paige), Adam Roush, Nolan Roush, Addison Meadows, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Brian was preceded in death by his Father, Carl Jackie McAnulty (Jack), and his Dad, Thomas Patrick Welsh (Tom). Friends may visit from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM EDT, with services immediately following on March 14th, 2026 at Burkhart Funeral Home in Crawfordsville, Indiana. At Brian’s request, there will be a Celebration of Life held on June 13th, 2026 at the EIEIO Farm.
