Meet Joanna (Anna)!

Anna is a bright new addition to the culinary team at Hickory Creek of Crawfordsville. She is a junior at South Montgomery High School and is currently taking college courses to earn her teaching certificate in conjunction with her high school diploma. She is very warm and kind and always ensures that she has a smile on her face with all interactions she has. She enjoys camping, fishing, and, most of all, spending quality time with her friends and family.

Congratulations Miriam (Kay) Melvin, CNA, our Quest for Excellence winner for 2025! We are looking forward to honoring this year's outstanding Quest Winners at the banquet on November 13 at the Marriott in Indianapolis.

Hickory Creek of Crawfordsville is proud to announce Miriam “Kay” Melvin as our Quest Excellence winner. Kay exemplifies what it means to be a great CNA, and a great human being. She has been an invaluable member of the team here for 25 years.

Kay was nominated by her peers because of her desire to care for others and her commitment to the residents and the community. One staff member stated, “Kay is a staple in this company. She is always quick to volunteer to help at any time. She is very dependable and always has a kind ear ready to listen.” Another colleague stated, “There is nothing she will not do for this building. She works in any department that needs help. She absolutely loves the residents and is an exemplary employee. She is dedicated to her work and her passion continues to show.”

Kay exemplifies ASC’s core values in every aspect and is the epitome of a team player, always stepping in wherever and whenever needed. Everyone knows her as “Mama Kay” and considers her family. She said the reason she has stayed so long is her deep love of the residents and her co-workers. Kay is an avid Colts fan and enjoys attending the games when she can. She is the proud mother of two sons and adores her three dogs.

Kay is a role model as an employee and a person. She makes everyone smile and ensures those around her get the recognition they deserve. We are proud to give her the recognition she deserves. Congratulations, Kay!

Meet David! 👋🏻

David brings over 10 years of culinary experience in a long-term care setting to our team. Not only is he a hard worker, but he is a dedicated employee who wants to make the lives of our residents more satisfying one meal at a time. He does this with a smile or kind word. David often goes far and above what is expected of him, because for him, it is more than a job; it is a calling.

Outside of Hickory Creek of Crawfordsville, David enjoys camping, motorsports, and spending quality time with his family and friends.
