Through the years, when death visited a family, the house was often identified by a badge of flowers or light in the window. This act let their neighbors and the community know that there had been a loss within the family. Schneider - Gompf Funeral Homes, we maintain this tradition by turning our porch light on while we are caring for a member of our community. This lets us know that a life has ended, and a period of mourning has begun for the family. This reminder stays lit until that person has been put to rest.
