🌟 Meet Annette! 🌟

For nine years, Annette has served as the Dietary Services Manager at Creston Specialty Care, where she takes great pleasure in assisting residents and their families with their nutritional needs. Inspired by the Registered Dietitian Nutritionists, Certified Dietary Managers, and Certified Food Protection Professionals she collaborates with, Annette values teamwork. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her grandkids and embracing nature. 🍃👵💚

🌟 Resident Spotlight 🌟

This week we are proud to spotlight Diane L.! Diane enjoys spending time working hard in therapy and says one of the things she likes most is “getting stronger in therapy.” Her dedication and positive attitude are inspiring to everyone around her.

Diane grew up in the country near Thayer, and she enjoys visits from her sisters as well as friends from Creston. Family and friendships mean a lot to her, and those visits always brighten her days.

One of Diane’s proud accomplishments is participating in the Special Olympics, something she looks back on with pride. In her free time, Diane enjoys playing games and working on word puzzles, which keep her mind active and engaged.

When asked what advice she would give to the younger generation, Diane shared a simple but powerful message: “Do the best you can.”

East Union Community School District students spent part of their day visiting our residents and learning about the important roles each department plays in our facility.

From Nursing to Activities, Dietary, and more, they got a behind-the-scenes look at how everyone works together to care for our residents. 🌟 Team Member Spotlight 🌟

This week we are excited to spotlight Ashley C., one of our dedicated Charge Nurses! Ashley has been part of our team for seven months, and in that time, she has already made a meaningful impact. She says the best part of her role is supporting her team and making sure our residents receive the best care possible.

Ashley describes our team as supportive, compassionate, and dedicated, and she truly lives those values every day. She is inspired by the hard-working nurses and health care workers who show compassion and dedication to residents daily. In the future, Ashley hopes to continue growing as a nurse, expanding her skills, and obtaining her RN.

Outside of work, Ashley enjoys spending time with her four children, relaxing at home, and reading a good book to recharge after busy days. Her advice to anyone starting a career in health care is to stay willing to learn, ask questions, and always remember that compassion and patience make a huge difference.

Ashley wants people to know just how much our team truly cares about our residents and works together to create a supportive and positive environment for everyone.

🌟 Resident Spotlight: Teresa V. 🌟

This week we’re excited to highlight Teresa, who has been part of our community for two years!

Teresa enjoys staying active with our Sit & Fit activity, relaxing while watching TV, and spending time outside enjoying the fresh air.

She grew up in California and moved to Iowa at the age of 10, where she built her life and career. Teresa spent many years working in factories, showing a strong work ethic and dedication.

Teresa enjoys fishing and making dream catchers, hobbies that reflect both creativity and a love for the outdoors.

We’re grateful to have Teresa as part of our community! 💙

Today our amazing team members teamed up with residents for a little laughter therapy — and let’s just say, things got goofy fast! From funny faces to spontaneous dance moves, the smiles were contagious and the giggles were nonstop.

Moments like these remind us that joy lives in the little things — and that a little silliness goes a long way. 💛

Game faces: ON 😄🔥

Our residents turned the dining room into an arcade and brought the heat to our homemade air hockey table! Balls were flying, cheers were loud, and let’s just say… there may have been some very serious scorekeeping going on. 🏒💨

Leadership and Team Members had an absolute blast joining our residents for a fun parachute and beach ball game! Laughter filled the room as everyone worked together to keep the beach balls bouncing and the parachute moving. At one point, we even sent our brave Activity Coordinator under the parachute to keep the balls in motion and the energy going strong — which only added to the laughter and excitement!

It’s moments like these that remind us how important connection, teamwork, and a little silliness can be. We love seeing our team jump right in and make meaningful memories alongside our residents every single day. 💙🎈

Meet Brandy! She has been a housekeeper at Creston Specialty Care for two months. She enjoys cleaning and making the residents happy with a clean room and sparking conversation with them as she works!

🌟 Resident Spotlight: Bret P. 🌟

Bret has been a valued part of the community at Creston Specialty Care for over two years! He enjoys visiting with everyone and participating in as many activities as possible.

Born and raised in Greenfield, Bret grew up with two siblings and they remain very close. He is also a proud Dad to two children.

Bret joined the Navy in 1983 and, after his service, worked at Wellman. In his free time, he loves listening to music, doing word searches, playing Bingo, and joining in on all the fun activities we offer. We’re so grateful to have Bret as part of our community! 💙
