Our next community outing landed us at the Creston Pizza Ranch! Why fight the craziness of an upcoming holiday, when you can dive in, review your bobcat rank, buffet until your stomach aches, and celebrate a great fundraiser with some arcade games! Thanks for hosting us, Pizza Ranch!

A big thank you to Southern Hills Veterinary Center and Dr. Josh Fioretto, DVM. Dr. Fioretto set up several stations throughout the clinic to showcase general pet health, being a good pet parent, where our pets may go for surgeries or emergencies, and how they handle the really big animals that need their help when they are sick, or just needing checkups to stay healthy!
Thank you so much for the fun evening, and all the trivia and games you included to keep us on task! šŸ˜‰ We will surely miss you and Anthony!

Thank you to Creston Fire Department for having us out, tonight! Assistant Chief (and scout dad) Daniel Stull talked with the scouts about checking smoke detectors every 6 months, having an escape plan, a meeting spot, and the good old stop/drop/roll! They learned about the different fire trucks, and explored the training center. Many took on the challenge of carrying the hose, crawling through the maze in the dark, and moving the man/dummy across the center to safety. We appreciate you, all, Creston Fire Department!

So much fun! (And after only gluing my fingers together, once, I could put together about 3-4 an hour! Not too bad!)

Last week, the Cubs had a few STEM activities that we could tie into having to do with air/wind.
A big thank you to Medicap Pharmacy for the assist with the Alka-Seltzer Rockets! We also made straw rockets and set off Estes Rockets! Out of 13 rockets, only 2 learned the hard lesson of the wind carrying your rocket into a tree! Not bad šŸ˜‚

This week the scouts worked on their Bobcat badge - learning the 12 Points of the Scout Law. Grades K-2 had an ariel view map of the church/surroundings and had to find bags with an item relating to each point. This helps work on terrain recognition & map reading, as well! The ā€œbigsā€, grades 3-5, practiced setting up a scout tent, and then had to demonstrate it to the ā€œlittlesā€.
We’re in full swing of the fall activities!

We were fortunate enough to learn from the best! The Creston pickleball league took the cub scouts under their wing & taught them the basics of a fun sport for any age. The newly painted courts & nets were fantastic!! A big thank you to Cindy Gomis, Deb Peterson, and Steve Eyburg for all of your patience, encouragement, and help!
