OT month continues & so does our love and appreciation for our amazing OT team!

It starts with something small

A zipper that finally goes up
A meltdown that turns into a moment of calm
Big feelings that once felt overwhelming, now understood and managed
A crayon held just right
A child who once avoided everything now willing to try

This is occupational therapy

It is the quiet, powerful work happening behind the scenes that changes everything in the real world. It is helping children build the skills they need to play, learn, connect, regulate their emotions, and feel confident in their own bodies

Our occupational therapists are part coach, part detective, part biggest fan. They help children make sense of their world, navigate big emotions, and find strategies that actually work in real life. They lean into strengths and create pathways forward when things feel stuck

And while the goals may look simple to the outside world, the impact is anything but

Independence grows
Confidence builds
Emotional regulation strengthens
Families breathe a little easier

This is the work that matters

This morning we had the opportunity to visit Westonwood Ranch in Freeport, and wow… what an incredible place 🤍

Westonwood Ranch is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving individuals with special needs by providing a safe, inclusive environment where they can grow, connect, and thrive. Their programs focus on building life skills, confidence, and independence through meaningful, hands-on experiences.

From equine-assisted activities and outdoor recreation to social development opportunities, everything they do is intentional and rooted in empowering each individual they serve. You can truly feel the heart behind their mission the moment you step on the property.

If you are a family looking for services, support, or opportunities for your child to grow in a welcoming and encouraging environment, Westonwood Ranch is absolutely worth checking out.

Spaces like this are so important for our families and our community, and we are incredibly grateful for the work they’re doing right here in our area.
