ISHINE WINNER DECEMBER 2025 - Shernelle Matthews!

Appropriate clothing can make a person feel confident and ready for a special occasion. This is true for healthcare workers, emergency responders, business professionals... and our residents. When a resident at Crestview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center was invited to be part of his niece’s wedding and walk her down the aisle, his first thought was, what will I wear? His dress clothes were at his home in a neighboring town, and he had no way to retrieve them or purchase new attire for such an important event.

Shernelle Matthews, Certified Nursing Assistant, learned of his situation and immediately stepped up to help. She met with the resident to learn what clothing he preferred and where it was located, then personally drove to his home to pick up his suit, dress shirt, tie, and shoes. Upon her return, the team planned time to ensure everything was freshly washed, pressed, and ready for the big day. Dressed in his suit, the resident felt confident and proud, making a lasting impression as he wheeled alongside his niece during the ceremony. With a sharp suit to match the beautiful bride, the resident felt on top of the world.

Thanks to Shernelle’s extra time, care, and compassion, a meaningful and unforgettable moment was created. Thank you, Shernelle, for managing this situation for a positive outcome.
