This is nothing short of amazing! We have options now to keep kids from progressing in their myopia! Super exciting and we are thankful to be able to provide these options for our patients!

After years of anticipation, the first US approval of a myopia control spectacle lens was announced earlier today.

The Essilor Stellest lens reduced progression of spherical equivalent refraction by 71% and axial elongation by 53% after two years of wear, according to the FDA.

It's approved for use in children six to 12 years old and the lenses should be worn at least 12 hours per day, every day.
