Sometimes, simple phrases like “I want ice cream” can suddenly become tricky for little ones. Early childhood stuttering (ages 2-5) is common, especially among boys, and often resolves naturally. But when it doesn’t, speech therapy can help!

Here are 7 tips to support your child at home:
1️⃣ Slow down – speak calmly and pause between sentences.
2️⃣ Give full attention – really listen when your child talks.
3️⃣ Ask fewer questions – try commenting instead.
4️⃣ Encourage turn-taking in conversation.
5️⃣ Build confidence with descriptive praise.
6️⃣ Set aside “special times” daily for undistracted attention.
7️⃣ Apply normal rules – discipline as usual.

Even just 5 minutes of special time a day can boost confidence and fluency!
