Yesterday the Whitefish bus headed south to Baxter for lunch and shopping.

Our first stop...lunch at the brand new Kwik Trip!! 🥪. We were greeted by the store manager Troy. Each of our residents received a complimentary take home meal and a donut. 🍩 And some also took advantage of a free loaf of bread and a pound of bananas. 🍞 🍌

Then off to Common Goods second hand store where the residents found a few new treasures! 👚 🥿 🖼️

And finally a stop at Salvage Sisters repurposed store where we found some unique gifts! 📿 🧩 Thank you to Mitch for the licorice!!

Yesterday we headed over to Grand Casino Mille Lacs where 9 of our residents spent their day trying their luck on the machines, enjoying lunch together, and ending their day with free ice cream!!! 🎰🥪🍨
Lots of great conversations and laughter throughout the bus ride and during their day! 😀. Until next time...

Here is part 2 of our Halloween event yesterday. 🎃 We started the day off with our leadership team taking a group photo dressed in their cops and robbers theme. Looks like one of our staff even got arrested and a resident stopped for speeding (I think he got a warning!) 😳

Then the kids from Crosslake Community School came over for some trick or treating. Lots of smiles on the residents faces as they handed out the candy. 🍭 And lots of great costumes 😄.

We ended the day with a little Halloween party for the residents enjoying some drinks and Halloween treats! 🧁🍿🍪

This week Mike and Jan were in during our weekly Happy Hour helping us celebrate our October birthdays!! 🥳🎉. Always a good time had by all singing, clapping, and moving our feet to the music while enjoying their favorite beverage and a cupcake! 🎶🧁

This morning the bus was off to one of the residents favorite places...Valeri Ann's. We have been there several times for lunch but never for breakfast. And boy did they not disappoint. Excellent breakfast food!! 🥞🫐🥓☕
Great conversations and plenty of laughter had by everyone! Especially when one of our residents referred to all of us as being part of a zoo!!! ❤️😀💜

In this month's activity called Made in Minnesota we traveled to Spring Grove to learn about the Spring Grove Soda Pop Company. Did you know they have been around since 1895? The pharmacist G.C. Ristey had a soda jerk as part of his drug store.
The residents learned about the company, watched a few short videos, sampled 4 different flavors, and enjoyed a piece of cake made with their strawberry pop! 🍰 A little fun fact, they have only ever manufactured their pop using glass bottles! 🍶

And we are off again!! Today we headed to Shiner's Restaurant in Jenkins for lunch. Katie's face says it all..."We are here." There we enjoyed appetizers, subs, and salads. Where will the bus go next?!? 🥪🥙🥗🚌🤷
