One sensory activity we tried in Memory Care was "Foam Clay". We had never tried it before, but it was very light and easy to work with. They liked how it felt and all the things you could do with it! They wanted to make snowmen but even though they look melted, we had alot of fun and lots of laughs. I had a hard time stopping the activity. They just wanted to keep messing with it! I posted our snowmen as well to show you how they now look melted!

It was so interesting to us in Memory Care when Judy wanted to show us all how to do "Finger Knitting ". Judy also showed us how to quilt in another class. She is a great teacher! She even had staff join in. We didn't get to much done in this first class, but we will keep you posted! Have you ever finger knitted?

We had a very different "Dare to Dream" this month. One of our residents loves to quilt and does amazing work. She said she has always wanted to teach a class on quilting. She has made over 100 Quilts for the VA Hospital for our veterans. She has her sewing equipment here at the facility, but we can't allow needles, scissors and such in rooms, so she has to wait until someone can't be with her to use it. After her presentation, I presented her with a quilt she can make without using anything sharp. We had a wonderful and enlightening day with her. Residents had many questions for her as well. Judy, you make make a wonderful teacher! I dont think her smile came off her face the entire class. A dream doesn't always cost alot of money. Its about what the heart always wanted to do. Big or small.
