This is one of the reasons small towns still matter. When winter hits hard, people don’t look away they step in. Huge thank you to Kenny Swann for scraping the drive-through free of ice so our patients could safely and conveniently be taken care of. Quiet help, no spotlight. Grateful for people like this and the community we’re part of.

Thomas Drugs’ Jerk of the Month – and a Birthday Worth Celebrating!!! The term “soda jerk” goes back to the late 1800s, when soda fountains were the social centers of American towns. The “jerk” referred to the sharp pull of the soda fountain handle used to draw carbonated water. A good soda jerk wasn’t just pouring drinks they were performers, listeners, craftspeople, and hosts. They remembered names, preferences, and stories. They created an experience, not just a product.

We want to recognize our very own Jerk of the Month to the person who quietly makes the place better every single shift. The kind of employee who shows up prepared, treats customers with respect, supports coworkers without being asked, and takes pride in doing things the right way even when no one is watching. That consistency matters. It’s rare, and it’s worth calling out. Not to mention his awesome sense of humor!!!

Adding to the occasion, this month also happens to be Landon Gottschall birthday. That overlap feels fitting. Today isn’t just about another year older it’s about another year of showing what professionalism, reliability, and care actually look like in practice.

That tradition lives on here. This month’s honoree represents what the role is supposed to be: pride in the work, attention to detail, and genuine care for people.

Happy Birthday and congratulations to our Jerk of the Month.
