Heart health is a great topic for this month. Heart Disease is the leading cause of death worldwide. These are a group of diseases that deal with the heart and blood vessels. The good news is 50-70% of heart disease is preventable.
What can we do???
* Be Active 🏃🏻♀️
Goal 150 mins of moderate activity/ week
* Eat Healthy Foods 🥑🍓🥦
Diet Rich in fruits, veggies, whole grains, lean proteins, nuts, seeds, and healthy fats
* Avoid Risky Substances 🥃🚬
Alcohol can raise blood pressure and to***co damages blood vessels
* Get Good Sleep 😴
Aim for 7-9 hours. This helps support blood pressure, metabolism, overall heart health
* Reduce stress 😫
Regular physical activity, time in nature, and socializing all reduce our stress levels.
* Maintain a healthy weight
Can help lower blood pressure, cholesterol, and reduce strain on the heart
* Monitor your cholesterol numbers, blood sugar, and blood pressure
* See your doctor regularly 👩🏻⚕️
