The Martin "Bud" Schulman Award is a prestigious honor in the field of orthodontics.
Who It Honors
The award is presented in honor of Martin "Bud" Schulman, founder of the Schulman Study Group, a nationally recognized organization of successful orthodontic practices. Schulman founded the Schulman Study Group in 1978, hand-selecting orthodontists for advanced training in practice management and development, operating under the credo "Success Through Sharing."
Purpose
The award is presented annually to an orthodontist who has made a significant impact on the science of orthodontics, the delivery of treatment, or the financial management of orthodontic practices.
Selection Criteria
Recipients are recognized for outstanding contributions both within and beyond their practices.
The Prize
Recipients of the Bud Schulman Award receive a contribution of $5,000 to donate to the charity of their choice.
Legacy
The award is considered a coveted honor among orthodontists. Bud Schulman, who passed away in September 2008 at the age of 88, was remembered as someone who touched the lives of thousands of orthodontists and helped them succeed, and whose innovative business methods helped propel the orthodontic specialty to new heights. The award continues his legacy of excellence and community contribution.

Dr. Puntillo has decided to designate the AAOF(American Association of Orthdontists Foundation) the beneficiary of the award.
