Pediatric Post Therapies is coming to KidFest 2026!
Activity: Outdoor Obstacle Course
Pediatric POST Therapies is a multidisciplinary pediatric clinic serving families in the Crystal Lake community through physical, occupational, speech, and mental health services. We provide neuro-affirming, inclusive, play-based care that honors each child’s strengths, interests, and individual developmental journey. Our team creates movement-rich, sensory-supportive experiences that promote healthy habits, confidence, communication, and meaningful life skills. We emphasize family collaboration and real-world application, helping children build skills that carry into school, home, and community settings. Each summer, we offer a community outing group where children explore local parks, businesses, and organizations while participating in volunteer opportunities. These experiences encourage teamwork, responsibility, social connection, and community engagement in authentic, supportive ways. We also hope to expand our programming to include a transitional readiness program designed to help children build independence, daily living skills, and confidence as they prepare for new environments and life stages. Our Pediatric POST team spent the evening playing games 🎲, sharing pizza 🍕, and getting to know each other outside the clinic. Building connection and trust within our team helps us collaborate better and provide the best possible support for the children and families we serve.

Strength, balance, and body awareness through play.

In this session, the child is half-kneeling on a stability pad while catching and passing a therapy ball to challenge core strength, postural control, coordination, and motor planning. Activities like this also provide proprioceptive input and support children who demonstrate toe walking patterns.

At Pediatric POST, we take a neuroaffirming approach and proudly support autistic children and young adults as they build independence and confidence in their bodies.

Play with a purpose at Pediatric POST!

These sisters worked together during physical therapy on activities that support primitive reflex integration (Spinal Galant, STNR, and TLR) while building core strength, coordination, and body awareness. Therapy can be even more motivating when siblings get to learn and move together!

Our approach is play-based, neuroaffirming, and focused on helping each child build independence and confidence in their own unique way.
