💙 In 2024, A Way Out helped 2,462 people in McHenry County. This year alone, 1,748 neighbors have already found support through the program. Every connection, call, and placement makes a difference — and we’re honored to stand alongside our partners in making recovery accessible.

Partnerships with police departments and Northwestern Medicine Woodstock Hospital ensure immediate help for those in crisis. Police serve as vital entry points into the program, while NDARS staff are present in the hospital’s Emergency Department three days a week to provide direct support. A team of Peer Support Navigators, including bilingual staff, works one-on-one with participants and families to remove barriers to care.

October is Substance Use & Misuse Prevention Month — a time to recognize the power of prevention in shaping healthier communities. 🌟

Every person has a story to share about how prevention makes a difference, whether it’s supporting a friend, guiding a young person, or building resources that create safer environments. By speaking up, we remind others that prevention is not only possible — it’s happening right here in our community.

We invite you to share your prevention story this month! Together, our voices can inspire hope, encourage action, and highlight the many ways prevention is improving lives.
