❌ Myth: Children are too young to
experience mental health challenges.

✅ Fact: Children experience stress, anxiety, and big
emotions just like adults—they just express them
differently. Behaviors such as meltdowns, withdrawal,
or acting out are often a child’s way of communicating
emotional overwhelm or unmet needs.

When we shift from asking “What’s wrong with this
behavior?” to “What might my child be trying to tell
me?”, we create space for understanding, support, and
healing. Early awareness and compassionate response
can make a meaningful difference in a child’s
emotional development.

March is a season of transition — longer days, changing routines, shifting expectations.
And while change can bring hope, it can also feel overwhelming for both children and adults.

During transitional times, it’s common to notice more emotions, irritability, anxiety, or feeling “off.” At the Center for Courageous Living, we believe that learning how to tolerate distress — rather than avoid it — is an important part of emotional well-being.

Distress tolerance means learning how to sit with uncomfortable feelings, ride the wave of big emotions, and find grounding in moments that feel uncertain. These are skills that can be learned, practiced, and strengthened — at any age.

If this season feels hard for you or your child, you don’t have to navigate it alone. We’re here to meet you where you are and support you through every transition. 💚

Healing isn’t linear.
There will be progress, pauses, steps forward, and moments that feel like setbacks — and all of it is part of the journey.

Growth doesn’t happen in a straight line, and neither does healing. What matters is continuing to show up for yourself with compassion, patience, and courage. Every step counts, even the quiet ones. 🤍

At The Center for Courageous Living, we believe healing is a process — not a performance — and you don’t have to walk it alone.

Codependency often shows up as overgiving, people-pleasing, and feeling responsible for other people’s emotions, choices, and happiness. It can create patterns of exhaustion, blurred boundaries, and losing yourself while trying to hold everything together for others.

Healing begins with awareness, boundaries, and learning to value your own needs just as much as everyone else’s 🤍 Breaking free from codependency isn’t about cutting people off — it’s about learning to love yourself, build emotional safety, and create healthier, more balanced relationships where care flows both ways 🌿

Change takes time, but every step forward matters 👣

And you deserve to be happy — just for being you ✨
If this resonates with you, support is available.

Myth: Healing should be fast — if it’s taking too long, something is wrong.
Fact: Healing happens in layers, not timelines. Real growth takes patience, support, and compassion for the process.

Progress isn’t measured by speed — it’s measured by safety, self-awareness, and sustainable change. Slow healing is still healing. 🤍

If you’re on a journey that feels longer than expected, you’re not behind — you’re becoming.

✨ Meet Daniela ✨

Daniela is a warm and compassionate counselor who supports children, teens, and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, school stress, relationship concerns, and life transitions. She believes therapy should feel like a safe place to breathe, feel understood, and show up exactly as you are — incorporating creativity and connection to help young clients build confidence and self-awareness.

In addition to her role as a pre-licensed counselor, Daniela also serves as our Administrative Manager, helping ensure each client and family feels welcomed, supported, and cared for from their very first interaction with our office. She values partnering with parents and walking alongside families as they strengthen emotional resilience together.

If you’re looking for support for your child or teen, we’re here to help.

Support doesn’t always look big or dramatic.
Sometimes it’s quiet. Sometimes it’s simple. Sometimes it’s just choosing yourself.

- Talking to someone.
- Setting boundaries.
- Asking for help.
- Resting.
- Taking space.
- Healing slowly.
All of it counts. All of it matters. 🤍

Support looks different for everyone — and every version is valid.
Reflection question:
What kind of support do I need most in this season of my life?

If you’re ready to take the next step, we’re here to walk with you.
