Join us in celebrating two of our talented therapists, Kelly and TeKeesha, on their latest professional achievements!

Kelly has officially earned her LCSW, and TeKeesha has earned her LPC โ€” both continuing to make a meaningful impact through their dedication to client care and mental wellness.

TeKeesha brings a compassionate, thoughtful approach, supporting clients through trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. She uses attachment-based therapy and CBT to help clients build insight and create meaningful, lasting change. Outside of the therapy room, she enjoys cooking new recipes, nature walks, and getting lost in classic literature or a good murder mystery (Jane Eyre is a favorite!).

Kelly brings a warm, relational approach and is passionate about supporting couples through Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to strengthen connection and communication. She values creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel seen, supported, and encouraged to grow. Outside of work, she enjoys pickleball, cozy coffee shop visits with friends and family, and spending time with her husband of nearly 12 years and their sweet daughter.

We are so proud of their growth and the care they provide to those they serve. ๐Ÿ’™

If youโ€™re looking for support, our team is here for you.

Support is here when youโ€™re ready.

Understanding the difference between red flags and green flags can help you recognize patterns in your relationships.

๐Ÿšฉ Red flags may show up as constant criticism, avoiding conflict, or controlling behavior.
โœ… Green flags often look like emotional safety, mutual respect, and healthy communication.

Healthy relationships are built on trust, openness, and the ability to work through challenges together. Recognizing these patterns can be the first step toward building stronger, more supportive connections.

Sometimes, the patterns we notice in relationships are also connected to whatโ€™s happening internally โ€” such as anxiety, past experiences, or mood-related challenges.

Research shows that seasonal changes, especially in the spring, can impact mood and energy levels. For some individuals, this may lead to increased restlessness, impulsivity, or emotional intensity โ€” which can begin to affect communication, connection, and overall relationship health.

It may be time to seek support if these patterns begin to interfere with your relationships, impact your wellbeing, or feel difficult to manage on your own.

If youโ€™re navigating relationship challenges or want support in building healthier patterns โ€” both individually and in your relationships โ€” our therapists at Center for Courageous Living are here to help.

We were honored to be a part of Harvest Christian Academyโ€™s Career Fair! ๐Ÿ’š

It was a meaningful opportunity to connect with students and staff while sharing what we do at The Center for Courageous Living, including how we serve faith-based partners and provide faith-specific care to the Christian community.

We also loved showing that therapy is more than just talkโ€”our team highlighted creative approaches like experiential and art-based techniques that help clients express and heal in different ways.

A special thank you to Mikayla Bavaro and Jannette Simmons for representing us so well. Jannette, a certified art therapist and Associate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, alongside Mikayla, who is training in child play and Adlerian therapy, demonstrated how creativity and play are powerful tools in the healing process.

Thank you, Harvest, for having usโ€”weโ€™re grateful to be part of such a supportive community!

Healthy boundaries are an important part of protecting your time, energy, and emotional well-being. Especially during times of stress, boundaries help prevent burnout and allow you to show up more fully in your relationships and daily life.

Setting boundaries may feel uncomfortable at first, but they create healthier, more respectful relationships โ€” both with others and with yourself. You have to take care of yourself before you can take care of others.

Self-care is not selfish โ€” itโ€™s essential. Learning to honor your needs is a powerful step toward balance, resilience, and overall well-being.

If youโ€™re finding it difficult to set or maintain boundaries, youโ€™re not alone. Support and guidance can help you build the confidence to care for yourself in meaningful ways.
Our therapists at Center for Courageous Living are here to walk alongside you.

Anxiety and depression can show up in very different ways โ€” but both can feel overwhelming in their own way.

Anxiety often feels like a mind that wonโ€™t slow down โ€” constant thoughts, worry, racing scenarios, and feeling on edge even when everything seems โ€œfineโ€ on the outside.

Depression can feel like the opposite โ€” heaviness, low energy, loss of motivation, and a sense of disconnection from yourself, others, or things you once enjoyed.
Some people experience one, some experience both, and sometimes they can overlap โ€” creating a cycle that feels confusing, frustrating, and difficult to break.

You might find yourself wanting to feel better, but not knowing where to start โ€” or feeling like you โ€œshouldโ€ be able to manage it on your own.

No matter how it shows up, your experience is valid โ€” and you donโ€™t have to navigate it alone.

If youโ€™ve been feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unlike yourself lately, it may be time to reach out for support. Therapy can help you better understand what youโ€™re experiencing, identify patterns, and build tools that actually support your day-to-day life. ๐Ÿ’™

We currently have immediate availability with several of our therapists, including:
Amy, Kristy, Jannette (trauma), Sebastian, TeKeesha (trauma), Jonathan, and Natalie (trauma).

Our team at Center for Courageous Living is here to support you โ€” wherever youโ€™re starting from.

As spring brings changes in routine, daylight, and energy levels, it can also impact mental health.

According to the Mayo Clinic, seasonal shifts may trigger symptoms of mania or hypomania for some individuals.

This may look like:
โ€ข Racing thoughts
โ€ข Needing little sleep without feeling tired
โ€ข Talking faster than usual
โ€ข Feeling unusually energized or unlike yourself
โ€ข Impulsive or risky behaviors

While increased energy can feel positive at first, itโ€™s important to notice when it begins to affect your daily life.

It may be time to seek support if these changes are impacting your sleep, relationships, responsibilities, or decision-making.

You donโ€™t have to navigate this alone. Support is here when youโ€™re ready. ๐Ÿ’™

Bipolar disorder isnโ€™t just one moment โ€” itโ€™s a cycle.

Itโ€™s a mental health condition that involves shifts between emotional highs (mania or hypomania) and lows (depression). These changes in mood, energy, and behavior can feel intense, overwhelming, and sometimes unpredictable.

At times, it may look like increased energy, reduced need for sleep, racing thoughts, or feeling more impulsive than usual. At other times, it can feel like deep exhaustion, low motivation, emotional heaviness, or disconnection.

These shifts can impact how you show up in your daily life โ€” in your routines, relationships, decision-making, and overall sense of stability.

It may be time to seek support when these patterns begin to feel difficult to manage, overwhelming, or are affecting your wellbeing.

You donโ€™t have to navigate these cycles alone. With the right support, greater understanding, balance, and stability are possible. ๐Ÿ’™

Our team at The Center for Courageous Living is here to support you โ€” wherever you are in your journey.
