One of the clues I didn’t realize was connected to my neurodivergence at the time: coffee never kept me up at night. I could drink it at literally any hour and still fall asleep right after.

People would always comment like, “If I drank coffee this late, I’d be up all night!” and I’d just laugh because that idea was totally foreign to me.

Turns out, since coffee is a stimulant, it’s actually really common for undiagnosed and unmedicated people with ADHD to use it as a form of self-medication without even realizing it.

October 24th we celebrated the ancient and evolving medicine that continues to restore balance, relieve pain, and reconnect body, mind, and spirit.

Acupuncture and herbal medicine remind us that healing isn’t about “fixing” — it’s about restoring flow and harmony. This medicine teaches us to listen, to honor the body’s wisdom, and to trust its natural ability to heal.
