Here’s your friendly reminder that therapy is for everyone.

Many individuals struggle with reaching out for mental health support out of fear of judgment, or shame. It is not a weakness to know when you are struggling. It takes plenty of strength and courage to reach out for help, especially if it feels like no one can truly help you.

I believe that anyone who reaches out for mental health support is being very brave. It is not an easy thing to reach out for support, and can be very vulnerable to do. Please know that I understand how anxiety provoking and uncomfortable this can feel at times. You are not alone and you are not flawed for needing support.

While the holidays can be a joyful time for many people, it is oftentimes the most painful time for others. I found an article published by SAMHSA that really captured the seriousness of this. In the article, it states that NAMI conducted a survey that showed 64% of individuals living with a mental illness reported that their symptoms worsen around the holidays.

SAMHSA continues, “Whether due to separation from loved ones, personal grief, the pressure of gift giving, challenging interactions with family, or shorter days, this time of year can bring unique mental health challenges.”
