We’ve come across posts that said that a baby turned 4 months and their pediatrician said they could start rice cereal and purée😳

What’s the Well-Rooted way??
🛑NO SOLIDS BEFORE 6 MONTHS🛑

For those of us on the functional medicine/Holistic track, there are a lot of reasons to the way we recommend solids and wjth reasoning behind it

✔️No grains before age 1
✔️Start with veggies

It’s a pretty simple plan to follow. ⬇️⬇️ This is why!

The gut is born leaky; intelligent by design. As the baby grows (around 4-6 months), there is less permiability. This is why when baby’s develop eczema, it’s usually around 4 months flagging us to FIX THE GUT!!!!

Enzymes to break down foods start at 6 months and aren’t fully developed until 12 months. This is why we say 🛑NO GRAINS BEFORE 12 MONTHS🛑 and then conventionally they are still saying cereal at 4 months 😳
