All 3 of our locations remain open as we closely monitor the CDC and Florida Department of Health recommendations. Everyone who enters our offices, including staff, is screened on a daily basis. If you have any symptoms of the illness (respiratory congestion, fever, malaise, nausea, cough, etc.) and are scheduled for a visit, please let us know in advance and we will help advise you on whether it is necessary to reschedule your appointment. In an abundance of caution, we offer the following five things for your consideration, things which help avoid any airborne diseases:
Practice good hygiene and wash your hands regularly throughout the day with a good antimicrobial soap or hand sanitizer.
Do not touch your face, ever, especially your eyes, nose, and mouth. Viruses do not have wings, feet, or fins, therefore they cannot get into your body without your help.
Keep a safe distance from anyone suspected of being ill and the CDC and NIH recommend at least six feet. The viruses travel on airborne droplets from those who are infected and thus distance is your friend.
Avoid sharing enclosed/unventilated spaces with anyone who is not well, such as traveling together in a car. If this cannot be avoided, consider driving with the windows open. If the patient is a member of your household, you may want to increase the circulation in your home and open a window if warranted. Perhaps wear a facemask, N-95 or equivalent.
The use of a personal facemask will be helpful if you are caring for someone who is sick, or you know you are going to be exposed to someone who is sick. However, for general use, a facemask has limited benefits. One of the most effective uses of a mask is on the patient to help prevent the spread of the disease.
We also wish to assure you that we have always practiced universal safety precautions in our offices; everything that you will ever come in contact with is sanitized and/or sterilized, including the doorknobs and chairs. We have hand sanitizer available for your use and encourage you to use it. We take your health, safety, and well-being as our number one priority.
