What is said in your labor room stays in your labor room!

One of my jobs is to be your cheerleader and to be a word of encouragement when you need it most.
All of these statements are things either I said while I was in labor or my clients have said during labor.

In the past I’ve always tried to have an encouraging response for every discouraged comment from my clients. BUT while at a recent birth my client reminded me that not every one of her comments needs a response and that is so true!!!
Sometimes a mama just needs to get her thoughts out of her head and isn’t looking for encouragement or a response at all.
That’s something I love about being a doula, I learn something new at every single birth.

Supporting moms and seeing them find strength that they didn’t even know they had is one of my favorite parts of my job. But, gaining lifelong friendships through the process runs a close second!

Sydne and JJ had some tough decisions to make through labor and birth and they made those decisions with such confidence.

I say it every time but I am so so grateful for each and every one of my clients! It’s the biggest honor being your doula and supporting you and your family through such a precious time in your life.
