We were honored to welcome Alabama Senator Garland Gudger Jr. and his friend Shannon Self to tour our Ridgecrest property this week. They took time to walk the property, ask thoughtful questions, and hear our vision for how this space will help restore the lives of women in Cullman County.

We are incredibly grateful that Senator Gudger believes in this mission and has pledged $40,000 toward renovations at Ridgecrest to help make this vision a reality.

When community leaders take time to understand the work being done and choose to invest in it, it truly makes a difference.

Thank you, Senator Gudger, for supporting Restoring Women Outreach and the women we serve. The future is bright!🌟

♥️Meet Restoring Women Outreach
Nancy Moore – President,

I got sober on July 12, 2014, and soon after returning home from rehab I began attending classes with the ladies at Restoring Women Outreach. Those classes helped build the foundation for my long-term sobriety.

When I was asked to serve on the Board, my answer was a definite yes. I have seen so many women’s lives restored — families reunited, women earning their GEDs and going to college, and many returning to the workforce and becoming successful.

Today I am a wife, mom, Mimi, and an active part of my community. I serve as the Sponsorship Coordinator for Cullman Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism. My heart is for women to know that their past does not determine their future. A beautiful life is waiting for them in recovery. Anything is possible.

Recovery and restoration, to me, mean hope renewed. It is about more than sobriety — it is about rebuilding a life with dignity, purpose, and self-worth. I have watched women rediscover their strength, restore relationships, and step into a new future no longer defined by their past. Being part of that journey through Restoring Women Outreach is truly a privilege.

Restoring Women Outreach matters because there are women who desperately need and want help. I am tired of seeing women die from addiction. RWO gives women hope.

It is a blessing to live in a community that truly cares.

Today we were reminded again that the work of Restoring Women Outreach is not done alone. It is strengthened by people who show up, listen, offer ideas, and support nonprofits like ours that are working to change lives.

When leaders, partners, and community members come together with a shared goal, the reach of the work grows and so does the impact.💪🏻

Thank you for believing in recovery, restoration, and the women we serve. ♥️

🌟A special thank you to Randall and Debbie Shedd, Jeff Clemmons, John Bullard, and Represenitive Cindy Myrex for taking the time to visit with us. We know how valuable your time is, and we are truly grateful that you chose to spend some of it with us.

United Way of Cullman County is so excited to officially welcome Tyler Hooper as our new Executive Director!

And truly, we could not feel more thankful.💙

Tyler is a Hanceville native whose roots in Cullman County run deep. He attended Sacred Heart School, graduated from St. Bernard Prep School, and went on to earn his degree from Samford University. This community helped shape who he is, and that foundation of faith, service, and hard work is evident in the way he leads.

Over the past decade, Tyler has built an incredible career in nonprofit fundraising and development. He has served in leadership roles with REV Birmingham, as Chief Development Officer at St. Bernard, and most recently as Director of Development for The Birmingham Promise. Throughout his career, he has led major gift initiatives, strengthened corporate and foundation partnerships, and secured significant grant funding to move important mission-driven work forward.

But beyond the titles and experience, what stands out most is his heart.

Tyler loves Cullman County. He believes in this community. And he genuinely wants to invest in the people and families who call this place home.

We truly feel blessed that he is stepping into this role. His experience, leadership, and passion for service are exactly what United Way needs in this season, and as an organization we are incredibly thankful for the vision and stability he brings.

We cannot wait to see what God does through this next chapter for United Way of Cullman County.

Please join us in welcoming Tyler home.🤍

We were blessed this weekend by 15 incredible young women from Alpha Delta Chi Christian Sorority at The University of Alabama who chose to spend part of their devotional retreat serving at Restoring Women Outreach.

From the moment they arrived, their hearts were evident. The very first young lady who stepped out of the car greeted me with genuine excitement and an eagerness to learn about RWO and the women we serve. Their joy, humility, and willingness to work spoke louder than words.

They cleaned, organized, scrubbed, sorted, and worked tirelessly ~but more importantly, they brought encouragement, kindness, and the true love of Christ into our space.

Service like this reminds us that faith is not only spoken ~ it is lived.🙌🏻

Claire Bollinger, their devotional chair, and each of these beautiful servants demonstrated what it means to love God and love others.

May each of these young women continue to carry their love for the Lord and their servant hearts into the world ahead of them. The future is brighter because of leaders like you.

We are deeply grateful.
