✨ Chamber Ambassador Luncheon ✨
We had the honor of hearing Carol Berry share the powerful mission of Restoring Women Outreach.

From rebuilding lives… to renewing hope… to empowering women on their recovery journey — Carol delivered a message that truly inspired the room.

Thank you to the Cullman Chamber of Commerce for giving RWO a platform to shine and for supporting the work happening in our community. 🩶

Together, we’re creating stories of transformation, one life at a time.

Today we want to tell you about a very special young woman named Brooke.

Brooke came to The Link through another incredible local nonprofit, Restoring Women Outreach. The Link partners with RWO in many ways, and it is fair to say that Brooke has touched nearly every part of our Supportive Services Program. She is not the same woman who came through the doors all those months ago; today she stands renewed, present, whole, sober. She is the fruit of many prayers, hard work, and God's grace. 🖤

We believe that good things happen when nonprofits link together to fill gaps- and Brooke is a perfect example of that. We asked her to share her story for our recent fundraising gala, and here is what she had to say, in her own words:

"The programs at The Link are essential in the first steps toward recovery. One of the very first things we do when we get to RWO is volunteer for the food pantry. This helps instantly by knowing you’re getting to help people in the community. Helping others is a key factor in recovery. People coming into the food bank are often facing difficult times, so a simple smile and hug makes their day.

Other programs like the Parenting Class and Anger Management classes are both needed to someone in recovery because a lot of times, we feel like failures in both of those departments. Having positive teachers in these classes along with a curriculum full of useful tips helps people in recovery to have a fresh start with their parenting and anger issues - both of which are normally key factor in why someone started drinking or drugging to begin with.”

We are grateful for the lives changed here, and we are so blessed that Brooke let us share her story. As Giving Tuesday approaches, we want you to consider The Link for your end of year gift. The Link is truly a community hub, neighbor-helping-neighbor, and it is strengthened by the gifts of our community. Whether you give funds, time, influence or skills... everyone has a superpower, a cause, something they can do to better our community. Whatever that is for you- we invite you to bring it to The Link. 🙏🏻

✨ Restoring Women Outreach had an amazing night at the United Way of Cullman County Designer Handbag Bingo! ✨

We are so grateful for our friends at Flourish for generously gifting us a table. Your continued kindness and partnership mean more than you know. 💛

And we have to brag on our waiter, Craig German of Victoria’s Closet, who absolutely spoiled us all night long — hands-down the best waiter there! 🙌🎉

🗣 From Carol:
“I know I say this often, but Cullman is truly a unique and wonderful place to live. As I walked around the event, I realized that RWO had board members seated at six different tables — plus several volunteers helping with the event.

Our table was donated by a nonprofit we’ve partnered with many times, and our waiter came from another nonprofit partnership we’ve shared with Craig and his beautiful wife, April, for years.

Cullman nonprofits partner, collaborate, and serve together — and that’s what makes this community so special. 💙”

💖 Nights like these remind us how blessed we are to be part of such a supportive, generous community. Thank you, Cullman, for always showing up with love!

💫 Honoring Brooke’s Journey of Hope and Service 💫

Tonight, we were honored to see Brooke Polson recognized at The Link’s Gala for her courage, dedication, and the way she uses her recovery to serve others. 🌿

Brooke’s story reminds us what true transformation looks like — not only finding freedom from addiction, but finding purpose in helping others. From volunteering at the food pantry to supporting other women in our program, she leads with kindness, compassion, and strength.

In Brooke’s own words:

“Helping others is a key factor in recovery… People coming into the food bank are often facing difficult times, so a simple smile and hug makes their day.”

We are so proud of Brooke and all of the women who continue to shine their light through service and love. ❤️
