In 2018, Premier Healthcare Services joined the Aveanna Healthcare family of companies to become Aveanna Healthcare Support Services. This new company has built upon the strong heritage of Premier and added even more strength to the local Intellectually and Developmentally Disabled (I/DD) communities we’ve served for more than a decade. Today as Aveanna, we work with all 21 of California’s Regional Centers to provide Employer of Record, Respite, Personal Assistance, Daycare, and Financial Management Services (FMS) throughout the state. All week long, we’ve been highlighting the importance of handwashing for National Handwashing Awareness Week. As we head into the holidays—when we’re gathering with loved ones, traveling, and sharing meals—clean hands are one of the simplest ways to keep everyone healthy.

Take 20 seconds with soap and water before/after gatherings, shopping trips, and caring for loved ones. This small habit can make a big impact!

Today, Aveanna observes World AIDS Day, a global initiative to raise awareness and support research efforts.

Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is a serious, chronic condition caused by the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). HIV weakens the immune system, making it harder for the body to fight infections and disease. While there is no cure for HIV/AIDS, modern treatments can help manage the virus, prevent progression, and improve quality of life.

Today is World Diabetes Day, a chance for us to educate our communities on diabetes and support those living with it.

Diabetes is a chronic condition that occurs when the body cannot use insulin properly to regulate blood sugar levels. Type 1 diabetes occurs when the body produces little to no insulin because the immune system attacks the cells that produce it. Type 2 diabetes, the most common type, occurs when the body produces insulin, but the cells do not respond well to it.
