The Allegany County Health Department would like to issue a public service announcement regarding an overdose spike in Baltimore, MD that may impact Allegany County. Naloxone is available free of charge by calling the Health Department at 301-759-5050 or by going to one of four vending machines within the county. Vending machines are located inside the George's Creek Library during business hours, inside the Possibility Shop (39 Baltimore St. Cumberland) during business hours, outside the Frostburg Armory 24 hours per day/7 days per week and outside of Steve's Pharmacy (16117 McMullen Hwy SW Cumberland) 24 hours per day/7 days per week. We would also like to remind citizens of the Good Samaritan Law that protects individuals who voluntarily aid someone in need during an emergency. We want all citizens to remain vigilant and safe. If you see someone who needs assistance, please respond. For more information on the incident in Baltimore, see the posted article below.
